2003 Couture vs 2022 Glover

Randy in 2003 wasn't so natural but roughly same age as Glover. Glover is a different animal though. He started his training in the US. He isn't a regular Brazilian fighter. I don't think he even competed in any gi and he prefers top position. It all depends if Randy can take him down.

I think Randy takes it, better cardio, stronger in the clinch, can dictate where the fight goes pretty definitively if the fight makes it out of the 2nd round. Randy is naturally the faster guy too, Glover is really slow. Glovers power and aggression would be an issue in the early but outside of that its clearly Randys fight to me. Glover is a great grappler but not off his back and hed need to drop Couture to get ontop realistically.

The sport may have evolved but Randy wouldnt be an undersized LHW. His athletic pedigree olympic alternate in greco, D1 all American in freestyle and an amateur boxer for the US military really still holds up in this era, especially at LHW.

Based on Glover hitting like a mac truck and 2003 Randy being overwhelmed by punches from both Ricco and Barnett.

Give me a break do you actually watch the fights? The question wasn't prime Glover vs prime Randy. It was Glover of today who got mopped by Phil Davis and Cory Anderdon vs prime Randy. Glover of today is slow and couldn't match Handys pace and cardio and would be getting wrestled and worked round after round.
