2 Women Graduate Ranger School

That's why the Army needs to make APFT gender neutral. As long as double standard exists, it's hard for Army leadership to preach to their subordinates that females are just as capable as the males.

APFT isn't age neutral. Why would it be gender neutral and still have a 28 year-old male not having to meet the same standards as a 19 year-old male?

Jesus man. That's ridiculous... I wonder if it's that bad everywhere, all the time. Wouldn't surprise me.
In Sweden, a certain police district handed out the answers to immigrants that took the test so they could pass them and enter the police academy...

They are also lowering the requirements so women and immigrants can easier join the police force.

I was in the Marines. The PFT upper body portion for men was based on pullups, whereas for women it was this dumb flexed arm hang thing. There was an article in the Marine Corps Times once about how while only like 9% of men maxed out their pullups (20), something like 72% of women maxed out their flexed arm hang. It was pretty ironic that while almost every woman in the unit was a fat slob, they all ran like 280s and 290s on the PFT (out of 300). These women would come in on the run time like 7 minutes after me, only to find out they had a near perfect physical fitness test. Unbelievable.

Jesus man. That's ridiculous... I wonder if it's that bad everywhere, all the time. Wouldn't surprise me.
Women also get 3 extra minutes on the run.

The reason why I don't think twice about flying aboard a plane with a female captain is because I know the training and evaluations are very strict and unbiased. If you don't cut it, you don't make it there.

Start making double standards for sex and I start getting worried. It's simple as that.

17-21 female apft standard equals to a 54 year old man. How many 54 year old privates and specialists are out there?

Don't pretend like age standard applis to only male. Age standard applies to both sexes.

Explain how they will lead squads, platoons, and companies of Rangers? They don't have a scroll. Finding a platoon, let alone a company full of tabbed personnel is damn near impossible.

I see you are correct. I misspoke. I was unaware that further training was required to join the 75th. So, unless these women attend RASP, they will likely go back to their cruddy POG job? Ranger school suddenly looks far less impressive.

As of right now, yes, women are not allowed in RASP and yes they will go back to their POG job.

People will always claim that something is fake if there is some reason they didn't like an outcome. A significantly lower percentage of women made it through than men, IIRC. If they'd been cheating, the numbers would probably have been a bit better

This. And it's worth nothing that Ranger school does not make one a Ranger. That's actually much harder to do, and I don't think any woman has come close (can they even try?). Good on these two for earning their tabs, but that's very different from being admitted to the 75th.

Thanks to you (and the other knowledgeable posters ITT) pointing out there's a difference between finishing Ranger school and being admitted to the 75th.

Just for clarification what exactly do you have to do to be admitted to the 75th (assuming the answer to that ? is not classified)?

You have to complete RASP (Ranger Assessment and Selection Program) and then be assigned to one of the 3 battalions of the 75th Ranger Regiment. That gets you the scroll and tan beret.

Maj. Gen. Scott Miller, the commanding general of the Maneuver Center of Excellence, and his command sergeant major observed and participated in training with the class.

Is that normal?

Lol no. It's one of the oddities that led people to believe that there was an agenda. We would prep for like a week if a general was even going to tour our battalion area. To see one training alongside others in the field would be mind blowing

If they go on to do the talk show circuit it will be even more obvious

we have female firefighters, why not rangers? it's the progressive thing to do!

I know many rangers and they all think that their class schooling was the hardest ever and others was simply watered down compared. This will never change. Same as when some legacies or the like are in the school. People will always complain it was in some way shape or form made easier for that class as a result.

Having said that of course this class had special attention, and was most likely watered down in some ways because of said attention. It is what it is.

Is there any proof it was watered down? I really like the idea of women shooting people. I am like, "that is progress".

i've never seen a single female complete even a 12 mile ruck march, period, none the less w/in standards my entire years in the Army.

I'm calling blatant shenanigans on this

Why are we to believe if a woman did complete it that you would have seen it?
Are you in charge of running these tests or something?

women soldiers are a joke(aside from medics, I'll give them that) .. just another 'affirmative action' pc bullshit ..

if women were legit soldiers, the U.S. military would be sending out all female units/squadrons/platoons into battle on their own without men .. so you know this is just to appease them .. just more inclusionary, 'we have to treat everyone equally'(even though they're not) nonsense .. nothing to do with them being capable
