Reyes won that fight. It was close, but he won. And Jon is not even close to being what he was 5 years ago.
Jon is still a goat, but he IS slowing down and does not have a lot of time left before he gets beat. Prime Jon would have put Reyes into Netherland.

I thought Jon did enough to win the fight. It was a good fight, would love to see them run it back.

How is cry more even a reply? I am not a fan of either guy really. Did it sound like I was crying???? I was simply making a statement about how things went tonight. Because we are on a forum that "discusses" mma fights. I think you should change your username to Karen.

Jones took 3 rounds, it was close but once again a fighter with cardio deficiency lets the last round and the fight slip away because they can't dig down deep.

However, that one judge scoring 49 - 46 is crazy but people acting like they're being paid off is silly.

Another loss for Jones after Santos. Natty Bones sucks.

It's really strange how he threw Olympic level wrestler, undefeated at HW and LHW, Daniel Cormier around the octagon like he was a baby. Then failed a lot of drugs tests. Now he can't handle Dominic Reyes' strength, and can't secure any takedowns.

But he is innocent of any wrong doing by USADA so it's definitely not that.

If you can’t compete in the 4th and 5th rounds, you don’t deserve to be a champion. Jones is hardly a shell of himself. However, much like GSP in his last WW fights, opponents are having more success. At that level, you’ve been studied more than any other fighter and usually get everyone’s best effort. More credit should be given to Jones, because while these opponents have looked good against him early, they clearly cannot hang with him in the championship rounds.

As a Jones fan, I feel every other Jones fan should be able to see this. Both his striking, wrestling and cardio went down so much that he's not even on the same level he was before. Look at his output volume in his peak years.

Jones is not the fighter he was and I have been saying this for a while. He doesn’t have the same strength and athleticism now and is less dynamic. He has improved defensively but he is not as good as he was and the slide is evident. I think Corey Anderson or Jan could even take a round off him.

he also couldn’t takedown or hold Smith or Santos either.

Jones is weaker physically now than he was pre USADA catching him a second time.

only a dumbass can’t see that.

I disagree. I’m a Jones hater but Reyes simply did an amazing job early of not being stationary and also not letting Jon off the hook in spots where previous opponents normally rest. For example, the high kicks on the way out when Jon was trying to disengage and reset. Also, Reyes is a big, strong guy.

I'm not just talking about this fight. He has been consistently like this for 3-4 past fights, a shell of his former self. He looked lackluster even when dominating Smith.

Jones has always had problems with guys as tall as him.

But agreed, he clearly was more beastly pre-USADA. So was everyone else though...

Juice era Jones was the greatest mma fighter I’ve ever seen.

Post drug test failures Jones is a good fighter but not near his former self.
