Dagestan being part of Russia has nothing to do with Dagestanis being Russian. Country borders may be "repainted" easily, ethnicities are a whole different matter. Ironically, Ukrainians and Belarusians are closer to being Russians than Dagestanis are, even though neither Ukraine nor Belarus are part of Russia.

What Khabib considers himself is irrelevant. He will never be considered "Russian" by ethnic Russians. Most of the Russian MMA fans rooted against him when he fought Conor.

I think Ortega can sub him in a scramble if Abe is not careful. Abe isn't bad on the ground but Ortega's game is pretty sharp. I wouldn't be surprised if Abe goes for a takedown and gets subbed.

North Americans have a fuzzy understanding of nationality or ethnicity.

Most of them treat ‘Hispanic’ like a racially non-white monolith despite obvious differences between guys like Yoel Romero, Tony Ferguson, and Frank Mir.

They’re simply blind to it.

The case of Russia and the North Caucus is even more complicated for them because they were politically brainwashed to not understand the obvious differences between Northern European and Southern European racial differences.

seems fair, pretty much all of ortegas wins he was losing the fight, he doesnt win rounds so if he cant finish he's not going to win.
