Just saw this article on CombatPress and did a little research on this kid and apparently he beats up UFC fighters like Sam Stout in training.

This 17 year old high school student (who is a monster at only 155lbs walking weight) is an IKF Kickboxing World Champion, two-time runner-up in All-Ontario Wrestling, three-time Grapplers Quest winner (No-Gi and Gi) and an Ontario Open (No-Gi and Gi) winner and already has a 1-0 record in amateur MMA...

thats high level accomplishments in all aspects... wrestling, bjj and kickboxing (hes the current world champion)

He is making his pro debut at the age of 17 in Japan (where he can legally fight pro) and says that he plans on being in the UFC before hes 21 years old...

Theres a news video about him in regards to his skills here, it also shows clips of him sparring with Sam Stout and Sam Stout speaks in the news video and says

The news video (with sam stout footage): http://windsor.ctvnews.ca/video?clipId=518685

the article I read from CombatPress in regards to this kid, saying he will likely be in the UFC before hes even 21 years old. He plans on fighting at 145lbs

    http://combatpress.com/2015/01/t-j-laramie-i-plan-on-being-in-the-ufc-before-im-21/

and i found some clips on youtube

    IKF world championship kickboxing:

And a scary thing to note here:
    - apparently he has a younger brother who is 15 years old turning 16, making his amateur debut... and his younger brother is also a kickboxing champion and do you remember that video of that "13 year old MMA prodigy" on youtube that had over 8 million views? well, this guys younger brother defeated the kid in that video in the finals of the world championships.

man MMA is gonna have some killers in like 5-10 years

That's cool and all, but can he defend against the outstretched hand on his head? Or defend against noogies?

Maybe he is, if he doesn't burn out early first.

The only types of threads I ever see on kid prodigies like these are like this one. I never see updates about them.

This is happening all over the place. Here's a guy I trained with down in Curitiba:

    http://www.sherdog.com/fighter/Lerryan-Douglas-77125

18 years old with 5 pro fights (4-1) and 6 amateur (from what Sherdog shows, I think he had 8 with wins in all of them). Watch out for him, he's a killer and he'll make the big show at some point.

Some bad ass kids are coming down the pipeline and they've been training MMA (not just one discipline their entire life then catching up on the rest) as a well rounded sport their whole life. This sport is still relatively young, especially in the USA, and there is a lot of innovation and strides to be made over the next few decades.

I phones should be banned from taking videos. Kids definitely got some potential. Hope he continues to develop and push the envelope.

There's 20 of these kids every year in Vegas. One or two actually make it into a quality show. Politics will always get in the way. But if kid just has good hook-ups, he doesn't even have to be better than average. He'll just get feeder fights and have a mic put in front of him.
