When getting elite womens level compared to men, other sports usually use 16 year old elite boys in that sport as a measurement and say elite women in their sport are not better than the elite 16 year old boys in that sport. This goes for basketball, tennis, soccer etc etc. Can we use the same logic for combat sport or is it different. This is for the people who have trained with women in gyms, something I never have done

also can we use 16 year old heavyweights as a measuring stick against top level lightweights

cause this is apparently really needed

Well Ronda did get manhandled by a 16 year old JV wrestler with a dad bod so I don't find it hard to believe.

I haven't either but on that line of thought I do know that the gold medal winning Canadian Women's hockey team prepared for the Olympics by playing exhibition games against Midget AAA teams which is basically almost elite 15-16 year old boys. So in that respect at least most people considered that their level among men. Also they obviously played a no contact game

I know in hockey the Canadian Olympic gold medal women's hockey team regularly plays Bantam AAA teams. So essentially they play against good 14 and 15 year olds, and they often have their hands full.

A decent Midget AAA team (16 and 17 year olds) would beat the Women's team as bad as Canada and USA beat everyone else in their field. That's not a sexist remark as much as it's just a fact of life. The womens players on Canada and USA are the best in the world at their sport, but comparing it to men's hockey is unfair on so many levels. Men are just physically stronger than women.

edit: just me to it ^^

As embarrassing as it as any discussion of WBW has to define her as elite. She's still top 10 in her shallow division

Rory McDonald beating up grown ass men in pro MMA fights when he was 16.

So, I think it's likely that an elite 16 year old athlete can defeat elite female athletes.

That's a cool story bro. Who cares even if true? Women compete against other women, not against men. You evaluate them based on their peers. I've never seen so many men feel so threatened by the mere existence of women in a sport.

The expression came from my soccer coach. Also my home town was European football champions and before they won it, they lost to the best 16 year old boys in a friendly. He said elite women are about the same level as elite 15 year olds and in general 16 year olds should beat them.

It's bantam? Wow that's young. Only have a loose memory of hearing about it because of the time Wickenheiser and baby Dion had a little skirmish
