So yeah, another happy 4th of July in Chiraq. Whatever they're doing there it sure as hell isn't working and, as most of us know, some of the things they are doing there is putting in more intensive gun control laws. I'm curious about the thoughts of some Sherdoggers on the issue.

With the more strict gun control laws in place in Chicago, why does it seem shootings are getting worse? Shouldn't the gun control laws be slowing things like this down?

Righties - do you think doing away with gun control would solve the problem and stem the tide of gun violence?

There is no solution to South Chicago. I say just build a wall around it.
 
I'm not from Chicago but I go there for a weekend every few months.
 
Gun control has never and will never work in America. Chicago has pretty strict gun laws an we see the affect of that. Even if you took every gun out of Chicago people would still be trying to kill each other. They'd do it with rocks if they had to. It's not the guns but the culture. Gang/hood culture promotes violence. Simple as that.

No why the culture is like that and how to resolve it...... that's the real question
 
I wouldn't be opposed to sending the National Guard in, to be honest.
 
It started probably prior to Al Capone but Chicago has a ton of corruption issues in the past and I am sure it still does, some of which is probably repercussions from his era.
 
I am going to go with useless hood rats that actively participate in a black market that self regulates with violnce in a culture that celebrates said market violence are useless cunts that engage in violence. I could be wrong though

Would be an absolute disaster nationwide. Imagine the hate CNN and BLM could drum up in such a scenario. Multiple cities would be burned to the ground.
 
CPD have complained for years that felons caught with firearms get a slap on the wrist as a huge contributor to their violence problem.

Also if we end the war on drugs we would watch a simular drop in crime as we saw with the end of prohibition.
