Maybe I've had the wrong idea about you, McCann. This is a great post.
Makes you wonder if we should be aborting 700,000 potential workers a year.
Maybe you’re onto something; since conservatives seem to have no plans for looking after kids after they’re born, maybe we could just send these would-be abortions to baby farms... like literal farms run by little babies. It would be so cute.
Do you want Cabbage Patch Kids?
Because that's how you get Cabbage Patch Kids.
Increase the amount of temporary work visa's for low to no skilled labour that reflects a low min wage with no voting rights. Allow companies to bid on these visas when they can prove they can't hire american. Once automation replaces low level jobs past point x, end the visas and send them back.
This lowers illegal immigration since you're making them temps and low cost labour and production remains steady
This works both ways. Americans doing landscaping work is unlikely around here. Yet a company like Microsoft will hire work visa immigrants for its cheaper.
Because left or right, nobody voted for, or likes this new arrangement.
We were told trade leads to cheaper shit. Everyone likes that.
They left out the part about lowered wages, and fewer middle class jobs.
Not to mention the other businesses that she is in competition with and perhaps crushing because they are going about things the right way.
Bro, in CT, white people still landscape.
What about him?
You think that's a zinger like I broadly approve of Trump or something?
FWIW those hats are def made in the US as well.
White people landscape, work in construction, farm and work in foodservice everywhere, as do black people and other people legally authorized to work here.
Based on this thread you'd think there isn't a single American worker worth shit.
Yup. The 1986 Immigration Reform and Control Act.
Stop exploiting uneducated immigrants by cracking down on people who employ them for substandard wages. Why is anyone going to pay a good working wage if they don't have to?
Or act magnanimous about exploiting them for their cheap labor.
Not trying to generalize but I'm suprised by this:
Huge difference legally bringing in migrant workers and paying a legal wage and people sneaking across the border to live here forever and taking jobs for 1/2 of min wage.
I get the sentiment.
I’m just not sure where to put the blame, if anywhere.
I’m fairly sure it’s not with people desperate to work for a better life.
Gotta play by the rules your masters play by if you want to stay alive.

Minimum wage is still $7.25, lol. Don’y worry; nobody’s undercutting that.
Also, you keep ignoring the point of the OP. It’s not all about money. Sweet potato pickers can make $250 a day. It’s brutal work. It’s seasonal. Most Americans are not interested.
