Lmaooooo so hilarious they call Pico that before he gets KTFO! Maybe Pico can hit up Erick Silva for some tips on how to be a prospect.
The guy that was clearly rolling for an arm bar:”he’s trying to lock something up!”BJM and Goldie suck together. They say nothing specific, barely call any play by play and are dead silent for some reason after a huge main event finish.
Hopefully this stops Bellator from spewing dumb nonsense like this ever again.
You knew that Travis Lutter was the Michael Jordan of BJJ, you knew that Roy Jones Jr. respects the hands of Forrest Griffin, but did you know that Aaron Pico is the Lebron James of MMA?
Aaron Pico is a great fighter and a future champ, i mean, how old is the guy?.?.
Scott Coker's had Gina Carano that he inherited from Elite XC and got exactly one fight out of her. He had Rhonda Rousey, but it took UFC to make her a star. He Cyborg and didn't do much with her. He had Daniel Cormier, but again, it took the UFC to make him a star. He had Bobby Lashley in both StrikeForce and Bellator, and has gotten great ratings from his fight segments and Scott Coker has shelved him since October 2016. He inherited MVP and has put him up against "Cans" and had a chance to have one of the biggest fights in England's MMA history, MVP vs Paul Daley in England, but he puts in, not England, not Las Vegas, but in Connecticut on DAZN. He's had a chance to build a MMA star in Aaron Pico, but decides to rush him against much more experienced opponents that have resulted in two brutal finishes for Aaron Pico in 6 fights. It's been almost 5 years for Coker running Bellator, he just can't seem to build stars.
Don't forget:
- Making old and injured Fedor fight against young Bader and Mitrione
- Destroying Minakov's mystique with pointless Kongo rematch
- Killing Kimbo
- Ruining Rory McDonald
- Making a chicken out of Daley
- Banning fighters from the Caucasus region
- ignoring Shlemenko
- letting Tito vs Chuck happen in another promotion
That Kongo vs Minakov rematch was pointless. Coker had a built in great storyline of the undefeated former Bellator Heavyweight Champion to challenge the FARCE Heavyweight Tournament winner Ryan Bader. But I've learned to expect Coker will never make the smart decision. Coker has a welterweight tournament and he puts the Champion in a fight with Mousasi the day the Welterweight Tournament starts. What promoter does that? Even now, Coker has a built in storyline of Tito Ortiz vs Bader, and Tito actually has rapport with the Bellator fan base because he has fought in Bellator and is 3-1 in Bellator, but Coker won't pull that trigger. Coker had ready made stories right in front of him, Bader vs Minakov, Bader vs Ortiz, Daley vs MVP in England, A.J. McKee vs Gallagher, and even Mousasi vs Shlemenko, yes, I know Shlemenko lost in Russia. But that storyline was there. But Coker will always screw things up.It was a HW Grand Prix with Bader. A GP with Fedor is basically nostaglia crack for Pride fans. That GP also built up a star in Bader.
Kongo earned that rematch. If building stars involves ducking that ain't building stars.
Not fair to accuse him of killing Kimbo. Kimbo honestly had a non fighting related illness. Without Bellator Kimbo was going to be boxing or something. Kimbo didn't get really hurt in his Bellator fights.
Dana would have went apeshit if he'd let Chuck v Tito happen. Chuck v Tito was an embarassment and it's good Coker passed on it.
