Hmm. I would probably put all those movies on the same level. They're all trying to do very different things and do the thing they're trying to do equally well.

I went with Scream. It was a fun slasher film and brought horror back after a string of flops and low grossers.

As for ID4, I thought it was watchable but don't get why people love it. Will Smith doing Will Smith. Hirsch and his Jewish banter with Goldblum was awful. Uncle Eddie was bad too.

I love Scream, Fargo and Trainspotting, but Romeo + Juliet gets the nod.

    Really? Damn. That's unexpected.

I'm down but it would be hard to live up to the original.

Not my favorite movie of the year, but still a quality film. Happy Gilmore being tied for third seems A LOT more egregious to me.

Yeah I def don't hate Fargo. It's really good imo and I've seen it several times. I just thought some of the other options were much better. And yeah, Happy Gilmore getting so many votes is definitely wtf. Fuck 99% of Adam Sandler's movies imo. And the other 1% are just alright. What a hack.

I'm impressed Scream got 20 votes. What a streak 90s Neve Campbell was on. Party of Five, Scream, The Craft, Wild Things, she was in a lot of stuff back then.
