I heard he always had a frown on his face and never wanted to go anywhere, sounds like a nightmare relationship.
 
Never trust a fat coach, unless you're doing Sumo.

I was taught by a 75 year old Judo 9th dan who tore/broke most of what can be torn/broken. Wasn't fat.

You only need a nice actor or stunt man as your training partner. Why bother taking care of your training partner.

But I get your point.
Depends on the division they were competing in, really. A heavyweight judoka who ends up busting their knees will probably tend towards pudgy since they can't burn the fat as much as they used too. Still just as good as they ever were in terms of skill, though.
