is this another thread to slam people who eat meat since it is talking about fighters and their veggie way of eating?

i will eat meat till a die the same with fruit and veggies ... balanced diet ftw

But in his training for the Penn fight, Fitch has come full circle. The top welterweight has joined a growing number of MMA stars who have committed to a vegetarian diet.

The list includes the next challenger for Georges St. Pierre

eh, just posting an article that came out today that is interesting and germane to this forum.

then why create two 2 threads about fighters and veggie diets?

seems you been reading the veggie vs non-veggie diet wars here and created these threads to support your views. which models after your nick name as well.

just a thought, lol

Sometimes when you copy/paste, it's best to edit out the extraneous crap from the article like:
*
* tweet0
* Email
* Print
And:
* A look at vegetarian fighters' diets Feb 18, 2011
* UFC 129 sellout means more Toronto shows Feb 15, 2011
And:
AdChoices
Jon Fitch has dropped meat from his diet as he prepares for his UFC 127 main event against B.J. Penn.

And:
Jake Shields is a lifelong vegetarian. His biggest dietary challenge is finding good eats on the road.

Your post would have looked a lot better without that crap.

it's two different articles, albeit tied together.

but one's the story, and one's the sample diets.

no one's making anyone read them.

thanks for the article, very interesting !

Keep it to one thread if they're related, no reason the sample diets link couldn't go in here.

If only there was some way to merge the two threads....

It'd still be messy, with misplaced posts. What I will do, is just go get the link from the other thread and add it to the opening post of this one.

*Done.

They didn't mention that Brock Lesnar cut a lot of meat out of his diet and now doesn't really have to cut weight anymore.

After Mir lost to Shane Carwin, he gave up meat or at least cut down on it.

Also wtf at Fitch only getting 90 grams of protein a day. That is ridic low.

It is an interesting article in seeing what some fighters do; just because a fighter chooses not to eat meat doesn't mean it the way to go. There are fighters who have adopted a Paleo way of eating. Does that mean everyone should eat paleo because these high level dude eat that way?

No, this is going to be another thread where vegetarians can't provide the proof for their "superior diet", then proceed to get torn apart by the fat and unhealthy meat eaters.
