Everything will be in lbs.

Age: 18
Height: 6'0"
Weight: 180
Squat: 265x1
BP: 205x1
Deadlift: 340x1

Just trying to get stronger. My trainer is Iron Addict, and I will NOT be posting the full routine I'm am doing while under his guidance.
EDIT: I'm no longer with IA as of 10/11/09, so I will be posting full workouts...usually

Welcome to the logs

Who's iron addict?

I see you have a log on the 'ironaddicts' site, too. What are your training goals?

I wouldn't worry too much about posting your entire routine here - unless your trainer had you sign some sort of confientiality agreeement (weird). Having the knowledge is one thing, putting it to use consistently and with sufficient energy is another.

Good luck.

Thanks guys. Sherdog is the only other place I frequent for any kind of training. I just want to get stronger, and I'm sure size will follow when I get strong enough. No small guy has ever been seen repping 225lbs right? Eventually when it gets really hard to gain I'll start muay thai or BJJ. Right now I'm in college, so priority is school, and weights is almost a perfect match to my lifestyle.

Iron Addict has his own board, just google ironaddict. He's a very good trainer with substantial knowledge on a lot of stuff. His board is very complete. It even has a section on meditation.

Standing Overhead Press
115x3x3

Dips
+10lbsx5x4
+15lbsx5x1

Pretty good workout. I want to get 135lbs on SOHP by next time, but seeing as how I struggled with 115, it might just be 5lbs or 10lbs, depending on how much I eat in the next 10 days.

Today's day was the shit. Here's how it went:

Supinated Pendlay Row
135x5
140x5
145x5
150x5
155x5

Deadlift

345x3 (+30lbs PR!)

So I hadn't deadlifted in about 2 weeks, on account of an extra squat sub. Dead's were feeling real good. I was doing 275 super easy, and 315 came without effort. So I though, I wonder if I can get 405? Now I didn't get it, b/c I remembered to keep my ego at the door. But I went to 345, and decided I can try that.

I got the first one, but it was really heavy. By the second rep, I was seeing some static. When I put it down and prepared for the third, I could feel the blood pressure in my face. I squeezed the 3rd rep with some groaning, and let that thing fall when I locked out. I just deadlifted 5lbs past my max, for 3 reps!

My friend said my back rounded on the last rep, and afterward I felt a slight tweak on it too...I was still scheduled for a 1x8, but I decided a 30lb PR for 3 is enough when my back rounded...

I have been going to the gym in warm-ups and a sweatshirt like PLers do, and right before I started the first rep, I put the hood on and looked at the bar like I was going to murder it. I did, it was me and the bar, no one else. I don't know if people were looking, I don't care. I wanted to scream at the bar afterward.

The bad part, I think I used up all my test, 'cause my libido is shit =).

Awsome PR day again

DB bench
120x8
130x8
140x8
150x8 (+30lbs!!!)

High Incline DB
90x5
100x5
110x5

I wanted to get my OP up, so I had a high incline...holy shit an awesome day

You DB benched 2 150 lb DBs for 8 reps?

Or two 75 lb DBs to equal 8 reps?

If it is the former I'm pretty sure you could 'rep' 225 already. Btw how many reps constitutes repping the weight?

Not two 150's, I used two 75lb dumbbells. I would say repping is more than 3, but three is border. I'm not that strong, so I can't really say.

Yeh man I don't think hitting 3 reps of 225 at your bodyweight is a hard goal to reach. Not that repping bench is exactly prestigious but there are plenty of guys here that weight the same or less and could hit 225 for 3 or more.

I can get it about 4 or 5 times pretty consistently right now and I'm weighing about 165. I'm sure you'd be better off to set some high deadlift goals instead though :D

I didn't mean I wanted to rep bench, I'm just saying I needed to get stronger to get bigger first. I actually think I messed up my shoulder with barbell flat bench, and I'm not doing it this wave (month). I don't mind just sticking with Pressing. Besides, you're a freak to be able to what you do at 165...lol

Box Squats
225x5
245x5
275x5
315x1

So I squatted 245x3x2 last time, and I thought, why not go for 245x5 on the box? Well, after I blew that out of the water, I decided, fuck it, lets go for 275. So I did that.

When I unracked 275, it felt so heavy, then I took a breath, held it in, and pushed out my abs. All of a sudden, BOOM, stable and confident. I repped the it like nothing. During the 3-5 reps, it got a bit hard, so I remembered to spread my feet. BAM easy.

I said, I gotta take advantage of this. So I put 3 plates. I didn't spread the floor b/c I forgot, but pushing out the abs helps so much, I repped it easy, I went down for a second, and for some reason, I thought: I'm done, there is no way I'm going up. So I dropped it...

Still, 315x1!!!!! And only the day before I was thinking how my squat sucked compared to my DL, and I needed to bring it up to par. My back probably rounded a bit during the descent, I was barely going to parallel, on the 275 last rep I GM the weight, but I still did it!!!

I think by doing chins and other stuff first, and then squats, I fired up better. I was wearing warm-ups and a sweatshirt too. Low bar stuff. I wish I had a video. Btw, I do not think I can get a boner on squat day...

There are like 2-3 people in my weight area on here that are stronger than me.

315 is a pretty damn good box squat!

About the boner thing.. maybe you should see a doc cause at 18 you should get boners all the time, even while squatting

I think I was descending to slowly on my squats, and today I went down quickly. I had some porn cheer me up a bit afterward.

Do you need to stay at 165lbs? Your goal weight says 175...what's up?

I don't really care either way what my weight is. I mean, obviously I want to get stronger than gaining weight is the easiest weight. I want to compete in powerlifting but at a local level it really wont make a difference what my weight is. From scouting results from local meets there is like a 100 lb difference between 165 lbs and 181 lbs.

With those PR's for the week, I want to hit 135lbsx3x3 on overhead press tomorrow, but my back isn't feeling too good...I'm gonna take the week off and lift Friday. Jumping up so much weight can't be good for my poor back...

It's a forced deload since I have some discomfort in my lower back. The most exercise I've gotten is walking to classes. Then I took a nap for recovery.

Supinated Grip Rows
150x5x5

Deadlifts
350x3
308x8

I'll get vids of these shortly. My back kind of aches, and I puked a little...

DB Bench
140x8
140x8
130x8
130x11 (failed on the 12th rep)

Incline Bench
110x5

What happened was my shoulder started hurting during the 140lbs DB bench, so I lowered the weight. I knew I wasn't going to get the 12th rep by the 11th, but I tried anyway.

Then I started inclining. Well, right before I started my work set after my warm-up I left my station to spot my friend. Skinny guy, like 50lbs less than my skinny-ass frame gets on it, changes the angle, and starts doing some 40lb shit...when my water bottle and log was right in front of the bench. Well when I got back I fixed the angle, and started to press 110. I couldn't do it. I had no idea why. I just did 90x2 really easy for warm-up. I tried again, and I failed. Again. It turns out I had put it on 80 degrees instead of the 60 I normally use, still kind of high...So I put it to where it should have been, and just did 1 out of my 3 sets since I went to failure 3x...
