WWE Could Go Out of Business in 2019?

I for one welcome our new RoH overlords

*watches Young Bucks match
*sees nothing but shitty superkicks with announcer yelling superkick
*gets rustled
*watches another RoH match... nothing but spot fests
*rustle continues
*watches MCMG vs Young Bucks... Bucks win after 20 superkicks
*rustle intensifies
*Kills Young Bucks
*buries them in the dessert

I always liked you Greg...you're good people.

This is the truth.....The WWE continuing to push Roman Reigns, is the equivalent of when the Chicago Bears continued to start Jay Cutler at QB year after year....with similar results I might add......

Roman should have been presented as a Curt Hennig type of personality. Instead, Vince personally tried to mold him into The Rock... from 2012.

Now that I listened to the video I basically laughed hysterically. None of the things he listed killed WCW, he thinks basic coincidences are karmic happenings. Wrestlemania is so long because there is so much to get on the show, it gives the fans value (almost all of whom are ultra fans who traveled for the event) for their dollars. Most of the indies that Cody says are booming run big shows leading up to Mania in the same city to cash in on the event often competing with WWE fan events. Those shows are thrilled to get 500 of WWE's 70,000 fans in town.

He blames the three hour Raw for ratings drops and uses a chart that shows ratings trends from 1996. He blames injuries but the boom period of the Attitude Era had many more injuries. About the only real issue is the push of Reigns over everyone else but that could be stopped anytime if the company was on the line.

The problem is fans acting like pushing good looking dudes is a problem. Weirdo group-think woman drana wrestling fans are the wwe's main problem.. That and millenials have no soul which equals horrible mic skills. Young white kids aren't allowed to be over the top confident and cool anymore. That will also hurt the product.

Changes aren't permanent, but change is to steal from a song. You can't expect people to like what they once did and for their tastes to be controllable in such a way. People wanted a cheese Americana hero in the Reagan 80's, a hard edgy product in the 90's, and someone to inspire decency in 2018. We don't need heroes with Soul or confidence or who are OTT, as all those traits seem villainous. Have you seen Captain America?

In discussion on race those whites have the money to drive the product because their values have created success. The only logical business move is to cater to them because its easier to draw flies with honey than to teach them to like soy. In the past someone like the Rock based solely on background and ethnicity could never be a star in Hollywood. But since there were at least five major studios he got an opportunity and his drawing power meant he could be the man.

In WWE terms, Roman Reigns is Shia Labeouf. Someone well liked and connected (Steven Spielberg) with a huge staring role (Transformers and Indy's son) getting lots of parts with all the important people (Hi Oliver Stone). The difference is once he failed they knocked him down the card (he was barely part of the ensemble in Fury) and have kept his failures on him and not the studio (Hi Mark Wahlberg).

The 9nly thing reigns ever did wrong was follow the terrible script at the rumble a few years back. He was totally fine and well liked before that. There were the "I cheered reigns first" posters, and he got cheered as a heel in the prior rumble.

Hating reigns is just the new "what?" A totally stupid thing fans jumped on and hung on to 10x too long because it made it look like they knew what was going on at live shows lol.. There's no reasoning behind it whatsoever. It's actually fine now.. The wwe is just going to have to come to terms with half the faces getting booed, and half the heels getting cheered. They should use it.

The Reigns hate was somewhat due to poor scripting, but a real talent could fight through such failures. He has had three Mania main events and hasn't made a real dent. If anything his fight against Brock is actively keeping fans who gladly spend thousands on travel from going because he sucks so much at basically the fundamental core of wrestling (and workrate isn't it): playing a character. Those cheers he got were cheer futures, based upon the belief he'd be the next guy and would elevate wrestling to a cool and interesting level.

On the what chant as much as it sucks it is based around wrestlers following a script that made no sense. Instead of doubling down and working harder, like during the MNW, the company just pushes forward -- future be damned.

On faces being booed and heels cheered in the 90's this was a much more common element. What fans are doing is reacting to the quality of the show. By booing Maivia they are saying stop this, and thusly the company gave us the Rock. No more boos. When making him a main eventer they needed him to be heel, even though very popular, they still got him boos. All they had to do was have him bash a lovable babyface and attack the fans. Using it is what was done in the past. The entire Hulk character (invented in Gagne's AWA) was seeded by the random audience cheering Hogan's first appearance.

It was there in the 90s, but it wasn't band wagon b.s.. Individuals had their own guys and everybody was loud about it.

Go watch reigns reaction before horrible ending rumble, and after. He went from cheers to boos over night. It's been weird.

Better chance of the XFL going out of business in 2019.
