WTF is up with the BW division and everyone begging for title shots coming off losses.

We really dont see this in any other division.

Both Cruz and Cody are talking boatloads of shit trying to get title shots.

Not only do neither of them have long win streaks in the division, but they both lost their last fights.

Cody was TKOd in round 2 and still thinks he should be next in line. How the hell do any of these guys figure that they deserve title shot over deserving contenders on win streaks when they didn't even win their last fights?

They should each have two fights before talking about championship rematches.....they can even fight eachother, but calling for title shots off losses is just ridiculous unless the loss was controversial.....

The most controversial out come of a BW title fight in recent memory is Cruz/TJ.....and TJ had to wait years working his way back.

Why should TJ give any of them the shot he didnt get himself, especially Cruz; who refused an immediate rematch for TJ despite fansand media being split on the outcome and TJ actually being the defending champion at the time of their fight.

Cruz and Cody are making asses of themselves; just trying to drag TJs name through the mud in the media despite knowing they have no business in a title fight until they get a win....

I especially loved how humble and analytical Cruz seemed post-loss, saying he didn't deserve an immediate rematch and had to go back to work. We all thought he meant getting fights, but nope, he immediately shut down an Assuncao callout, saying his next fight would be for the title before some sense was slapped into him and he was booked against the hottest streak in bantamweight: Rivera. Of course, Dom's gonna Dom, got injured out of that number 1 contender fight, then once he healed, just decided he's back into the rematch spotlight, as if that makes any fucking sense.

Dana needs to show Mighty Mouse the money for a fight against TJ. Let the rest fight each other. 135 has some talent. Need a #1 contender.

    PERFECT EXAMPLE

19 fight win streak.....Dom pulls out....

But Dom and Cody think they deserve the title shot over a fighter on a 19 fight winstreak when they lost their last fight.....insanity....

Id hate to admit this but... its the McGregor effect lol

Dana said cody rematch is gonna happen if DJ fight doesnt and im inclined to believe him, so i guess cruz is just chirping so he can easily fill in. And tbh if i was any of them id rather fight each other than Rivera

Really sucks that Cruz v Rivera fight didn't happen. That would have given far more clarity to the division. If Cruz can't come back soon then make Cody vs Rivera for #1 contender. hoefully, dana coughs up the $$$ for MM vs TJ in the meantime.

The UFC wanted Cody vs TJ 2 to save UFC 222. That's why Cody has been so vocal. Cody actually said a month or so ago he doesn't deserve an immediate rematch and that a fight between him and Jimmie Rivera actually makes sense.

Cruz is just acting entitled. He ducked Jimmie hard by getting injured and is now trying to skip past him in the title picture.

I used to wonder why fighters were obsessed with title shots, instead just fighting top 20 guys and cashing checks like Cerrone.

Then I found out there's like a 70% increase in pay, then it all made sense.

If DJ doesn't accept the fight the next shot is up for grabs

    Why not campaign for it?

Because TJ is a pretty easy target at the moment. He's moving to a lower weight class which historically isn't flattering for the person from the higher weight class, especially if they're champion. I'm all but certain that both Cody and Cruz have profound respect for DJ behind closed doors, they're simply foregoing logic to cater to their own benefit.

TJ will just turn down the fight. If you think champs look bad making a money fight; thats nothing compared to taking fights against guys coming off a 2nd round TKO loss...

We should be talking about ranked BWs that TJ hasnt already fought for the time being....

Cody and Cruz need to work their way back to a shot.....like TJ did himself....
