wow bellator

and who exactly are these undercard fighters and why do they deserve more?

don't forget guys, those undercard fighters have to hawk tickers personally, too! Man, if they get a cut of the tickets they sell? Hoo-boy, that's $$$ right there

The current minimum pay for a UFC fighter is $12k show/$12k win plus a $3,500 Reebok payment. I really would like to see proof a Bellator prelim fighter can make the difference up through in-cage sponsors.

You guys do realize the people on the bottom of this list make next to nothing on sponsorship. In fact I won't doubt if more than few made zero on sponsorship. Not too mention many are required to sell tickets more or less.

Bellator isn't in a position to be paying under card guys 10K and its just the way it is. What there doing is offering these guys a decent payday from where they are coming from and chance to show case there skills in front of one of the big MMA shows. For some it will turn into a real contract.

so what. the lowest paid in the ufc are the same as bellator and people tried yelling that the ufc needed to show fighters respect.

who cares. people on ufc prelims were making 5k for a while and people got mad about it.

Probably because the UFC is worth $4 billion. Bellator is not...

you do know Viacom is a 40 billion cable giant right.

But, Bellator doesn't generate the revenue that makes Viacom a $40 billion dollar company. In fact, Bellator might be even be cutting into that value by being a money-losing venture based on how much money they are investing in free agents and what they get in return from advertising revenue.

Viacom gives scott coker a blank check to sign any one he wants. all they care about are big rating and the ydid almost 2 million views on sat

These numbers seem weird, Rory got 400k show for his last fight, why would that drop down to 100k? Unless they structured payment to avoid Cali taxes or something..

No he didnt, well atleast not publicly he didnt. His fight was in UK, no payouts are released.

The difference is that Bellator fighters can have sponsorship. Think of it like a waiter who gets tips. Low base pay, but perks for good service

I'm sure those guys on the prelims that nobody sees fight are making a killing with sponsorship $. $25 gift card and a T Shirt

Do those guys really deserve more? Could those guys make more than that anywhere else?

But, they have fallen short of a million for many events, and they may not be paying the bills and adding to Viacom's overall value. I am glad they did well this time though.

And, whatever numbers Bellator is doing on free TV, the UFC is eclipsing it in pay per view buys.

The thing is Bellator operates on the different model from the UFC. Bellator prelims are typically just local guys with shit records, and will never fight on a main card.

The difference between a UFC main card and prelims is about nil.

so joey davis is a bum

Oh, look - a paid UFC poster.

Fighters on the card that fought for the UFC and Bellator at similar points in their career...got paid more in Bellator. When you figure in sponsorships, Rory made between 2x-10x what he was making in the UFC.

The guys at the bottom of the card who got paid very little by Bellator...would have gotten 0 from the UFC and would have gotten a couple hundred fighting for small outfits. So, again, they're also doing better, thanks to Bellator.

60k for Pico isn't bad considering his only had a few fights.

I dont know why it big shock for everyone, doesnt matter which mma org you in, if you start at the bottom your not getting the $$$ till you build a record and following.

All the regional/prelim guys make pennies. The only advantage they have in fighting Bellator vs regional promotions is they get a little more exposure being part of Bellator. Small UFC prelim guys make next to nothing too. Nothing new here.
