Yes. Our minds almost require this yearning, which is alarming and one of the biggest reasons why it most likely doesn't exist. The vast empty darkness is almost unfathomably to some.

I cannot imagine any afterlife, heaven or hell that doesn't eventually end in utter boredom and pointlessness.

I'll gladly take ceasing to exist.
