Obviously there is a lot of space between these 2 extremes, but if you had to choose which risk would you take? There are examples of both that are highly successful but if you fight undersized you run the risk of getting blasted like Hamasaki last night or Maldonado, or beaten silly like BJ Penn at WW or (insert small Asian fighter). On the other hand if you cut a massive amount you might almost kill yourself, get fights canceled and/or be kicked out of your division ala Lineker, Hendricks, Rumble and Khabib Tiramisu.
Which would you rather do, fight undersized and stand small and proud or cut massive weight and brace yourself for fat jokes and hitting your head on a bathtub?
