Does Cruz deserve a TS if he beats Lineker?

  2. Yes, just cause.

Not really a huge fan of Cruz or Dillashaw. But it does sicken me just a little to see the UFC coddling Cruz like this. In my opinion, beating Lineker should not get him a TS.

Cruz was very lucky to get the nod in the first fight. Very close fight and like a lot of people I had TJ winning it. At the very least I thought a rematch was warranted given the iffy decision and closeness of the fight combined with the fact that TJ had 2 straight KO defenses and had KO'd the BW GOAT up to that point twice. Instead they give Cruz a pointless 3rd Faber fight, and they send TJ back to murderers row.

Oh well. Cody sends Cruz back to his usual injured reserve stauts, TJ works his way up again, gets the belt and defends it against Cody with 2 KO's.

Personally, I think Cruz needs to beat either Cody, Raphael, or Marlon before deserving a crack.

    What say you Sherdog?

I'd rather see Cruz - dillashaw than the pointless match TJ took against henry

Marlon absoutely should be next in line. Not only has he earned it but a guy that can KO you at any time is always interesting.

Cruz in the last 10 years
    10 wins by decision
    1 win by doctor stoppage
    1 win by KO

    I'll pass on him.

He would need another Mizugaki level performance to warrant it off one fight. Two fights should do the trick. I wish Dom the best and part of me hopes he finds a way to regain the title before retiring but I am by no means counting on it or expecting it.

Anybody who though TJ beat Cruz either doesn’t understand scoring or doesn’t like Cruz. It wasn’t controversial at all. It was an easy fight to score imo

Nah. It was a very close fight. Lot's of pros and commentators had it going to TJ. It deserved a rematch.

Probably not but I want him to beat TJ again so I'd be alright with it.

yeah why not, not only is he the BW GOAT but he already has a win against the champ so.

cruz vs TJ wasn't even controversial, yeah it was close but i thought it was pretty clear cruz was gonna get it, landed more, outwrestled him, had TJ missing all night.

I'm sure you would trust them if they scored the fight for Dom.

People are too used to Cruz coming back looking the same as ever after a long layoff. I think this time, he will look considerably worse and this will mark the beginning of his fall from contendership. Lineker is a dangerous fighter and should not be overlooked

I'm not even sure if he can beat Lineker at this point...

With all those injuries...and the style of movement he displays...it will catch up on him.
Sure it went pretty good last time...but that was like 2-3 years ago...now another 2 year layoff due to injuries...

I don't get punched in the head for a living, I thought TJ won 3 rounds to 2 as well. They both landed about the same amount of strikes and there was practically no grappling so the close rounds come down to aggression and octagon control which goes to TJ.
