World Happiness Report 2018: Top Spots Claimed by Countries w. Northern European Socialist Model

But, according to right wingers on Sherdog, those Scandinavian countries have been thoroughly overrun by hordes of "Asian" and North African migrants... Right?

I mean, I just assumed that's why they are so happy.

Well then I assume that Sweden is falling off from the top 10, because they have the biggest amount of refugees of the Nordic countries and Germany, France and the UK aren't even on the top 10.

Well, I grew up in Western Germany and lived in Australia for a few years.
And Australia was great can't see them ranking at number 10. They should be higher.
That being said happiest country for me is Thailand. I live here now for 8 years.
And its the happiest I have ever been because my western salary puts me into the upper class.

Those lists are questionable. And it is difficult to compare all the US to Europe. That should be broken down by US states to some degree.

India and China. We might just call them Indians and Chinese, but they have a ton of different people who all see themselves as different from each other.
#133 and #86

Yeah you're probably right on that one.

Remember that is in comparison to countries that don't have reliable utilities.

Edit: I wonder how many Puerto Ricans they interviewed.

You could give us the moon on a stick and we'd probably moan about the colour of the stick .

Depends on how you rate happiness and well being.

Lots of people like being controlled and taken care of totally by the government . If you rate that has happiness then you get this list.

If you are happy with that more power to you.

Those people aren't totally taken care of by the government. We have more of a police state than they do. Government health coverage isn't some great restriction of freedom lol.

Weird considering their spot in the suicide rate.

Swedish youth are becoming more depressed and battling anxiety.

It has increased amongst 10-17 years old with 100% the last ten years and 70% amongst 18-24 years old!

They can’t explain the increase but I have my theories.

Their women are on a quest to screw them over? Could be it.

Most get all kinds of things controlled and given to them by the government.

Tell me all about their 1st amendment rights. And we can go on. Which is fine if you want that and it makes you happy.

Some people don't mind a little struggle for more freedoms. Not that we don't have plenty of shit we could improve on.

# list too white
#check your privilege

Maybe someone should make an additional measurement of the US but remove the data from minority’s

So measure US murder and violent crime but don’t include acts committed by minoritys.

Measure incarceration but leave out minoritys.

Measure income, test scores, etc...but just from whites

Would be interesting to see how the rankings change

To be fair aren't a lot of those top 10 countries barely larger geographically than like the state of New York and their populations are dwarfed by the two largest American cities combined?

The corporatacracy is selling us becoming the borg. That's all over the west, and spreading. It's the real tyrannical force we may need to rise up to deal with in the not to distant future.

So, whether you measure subjectively, objectively, or some combination of the two, Northern European socialist models continue to produce unprecedented success on the societal level, as they have for 25+ years.
Ahem, #7 and #1 cough cough.

Outlier or exemplar?

A little socialism goes a long way. Baseline safety net, health care and education are things we should all contribute towards. Nanny and welfare states? Not so much.

Sweden has dropped in the rankings.

Post USADA or just out of its prime?

And also the connivance of the government along with it...
