New: Apprenticeship Incentive Grant for Women

In Budget 2018, the Government of Canada announced a new Apprenticeship Incentive Grant for Women to further support women in entering, progressing, and completing their training in Red Seal trades where women are underrepresented. The Apprenticeship Incentive Grant for Women (AIG-W) is a taxable cash grant of $3,000 per year/level (or equivalent) up to a maximum amount of $6,000 per person.

To be eligible for the AIG-W, you must:

• be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or protected person;
• not be a high school student;
• self-identify as a woman;
• have the required AIG-W supporting documents;
• be registered with your provincial/territorial apprenticeship authority as an apprentice in a designated Red Seal trade having low female representation;
• have progressed in your training in designated Red Seal trades on or after April 1, 2018; and
• provide proof that you have successfully completed either the 1st and/or 2nd year/level (or equivalent) of apprenticeship.

Applications will open in early December 2018.

Just by the fact that you have a vagina (or have convinced yourself that you do), you can get up to an extra $6000!

I support the idea of government programs to get more women into those kinds of careers.
You are losing a lot of good workers if you don't fully recruit from the female population.
Same goes for males in healthcare or education jobs.

That being said I don't think this is the right way to do it. Seem unfair to all the guys doing the same job.

Encourage people to embrace a mental illness.

Cite the increasing number of people with said mental illness as a reason for change.

Promote your personal cause in the guise of helping the mess you yourself created.

Add in free (to the tranny, not the taxpayer) hormones and surgery and well, I don't see how that government could even claim to be neutral in this matter. Not that they would be, though.

I've had two female apprentices (both good trades people) and am seeing more and more women in the trades. Particularly electricians and welders.
