Or any superfight at 135, I get it that he is small for the weight class as he keeps on repeating but if he really wants that stardom he needs to go up and be the smaller man. If he loses he will still get the respect (look at Conor vs 300lb Diaz 1) and he still has his belt.

It felt like before the TJ fight was talked about DJ was finally getting some recognition due to the fact is was undeniable, then he made excuses about TJ's weight and wanted Borg who has been known to miss weight and it hurt his brand.

Now, the sub he just pulled off has raised him back up a little again but in reality all it will be is another short clip on a build up to a FLW fight that noone will be intrigued by.

So, will DJ always overprice and blame pay for no superfights?

Why would this or any fight featuring Mighty Mouse at 135 be considered a “super fight?”

    It’s not like he wasn’t a 135 fighter originally...

Edit: Also there’s not proof that him moving back up would make him a draw. In fact it will be the same no matter how the UFC spins it.

    Im guessing you disagree?

To be fair MM has shown no interest in fighting TJ. It could happen but right now nope.

Well champ vs champ is a superfight and he wasn't 135 by choice.
I do agree on not being a huge draw and I think it might be a personality problem, he's very likeable, well spoken but just doesn't have that charisma

He should hurl racial epithets and such like Somnen, and Conor. That it what MMA fanbase really responds too. It's not about charisma. Some fighters are just too dignified for your low level motherfuckers.

Will there be enough viewers is the real question :)

Even if it happes and DJ wins... TJ won vs Dom, Dom vs DJ, and then DJ vs TJ.... so what then ?

DJ vs Cody I'd probably watch, if Cody wins vs TJ, but I can't promise anything... :D

I think DJ said he wants 1-2 million to fight TJ/Cody, I can't see him getting that. So yes to your final statement.

Just like the ancient proverb - if a fighter wins a belt and nobody watches, is he really a champion

Unless TJ beats Cody, there's no point of demanding this fight.
You are talking about the winningest champion putting his belt on the line against someone who would have just lost his title shot against Cody and never fought at DJ's division. Makes absolutely no sense.

If TJ loses to Cody, his only way to fight DJ is to go down, get a couple of wins THEN fight DJ. Much like Pettis attempted to do at 145.

Money isn't the issue, despite what Mighty Manlet says. This is a guy that supplements his income playing video games online...he didn't fight TJ because he wanted an easy fight "to break the record". You'll see MM vs Borg 2 before you'll see him fight TJ.
