Will we see the FLW division return?

I think it will return but it will take some time. Maybe the UFC will buyout a promotion that creates a strong FLW division so they don't have to do much work starting from scratch again.

Public opinion needs to change it's mind about watching smaller fighters first. Not sure how that goes but it works in boxing.

    Might come back
It will need someone who is creating a buzz outside the UFC tho imo
Like when they took on WMMA just so they can have Ron.

Pretty soon imo, it's a stupid move. Especially when the UFC can't seem to fathom headlining a PPV if a belt's not on the line.

I voted never just to hate on manlets.

But it will be back, once MMA takes off around the world and we have more manlets to actually make it competitive/talented.

It's Done, with all the chemically preserved & genetically modified foods consumed by women they pushing out Kidz that couldn't pass a USADA 1st baby weigh-in

Small men by genetics will be left to do circus shows and children birthday parties.

Going to have to tap into other markets. Can’t expect to be successful when your market is a bunch of 5’6 rednecks that cuck their wives to 6 foot guys.

I think this may be the case too. A Kid Yamamoto, BJ Penn, Jose Aldo type that people can rally behind. I think they're hoping for other orgs to build up the division so they don't need to build it up from scratch. It's interesting because I think globally FLW got a huge boost due to just existing in the UFC despite it not being popular and now I think they are letting other orgs to the legwork of continuing to biuld it up- then the UFC will buyout a promotion that has a strong FLW division or get a couple big signings and make it a lot easier to work with.

    Never. Why would it?

There has to be some lower limit, and 135 is perfectly fine.

There was only one fighter of interest at 125, and he used to fight at 135. He would be back there now if he were still in the UFC. Without him, the 125 division was nothing. It was close to nothing even with him there.

I don't think 125 is THAT low. At least not low to the point that it shouldn't have any great fighters in it. Freestyle wrestling, greco-roman have what's basically a 125lbs division in the Olympics. That weight division and lower exists in boxing. IBJJF and other BJJ orgs have close to a 125lbs weight class. Right now FLW doesn't have a ton of fighters but it's also not really had huge exposure until the UFC opened their FLW division.

There’s Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao, both of whom primarily compete against adult-sized humans.

Greats like Lomachenko, Rigo, and Chocolatito can’t sell shit.

Doubtful. There'd have to be a personality as big as McGregor or a Goat esque fighter like Anderson to shoehorn back a division like 125

The only way I ever see this division coming back is if some promotion creates a flyweight megastar capable of generating a lot of money. The UFC doesn't want to go through the hassle of signing a bunch of 125ers to recreate a division. They would only do that through a special deal with ONE FC. No other major promotions have a flyweight division if I'm not mistaken.

If we ever see a very special flyweight coming up the professional scene, odds are fans will be pushing for him to move up bantamweight, instead of requesting to reinstate the UFC FLW division.

Hopefully never. BW could use some fresh new blood and the lesser FLW's can go make that horse jockey pay-pa!
