Will humanity ever reach attain unity?

I think we can vastly improve on the situation we have now, but I do not think we will ever reach 100% unity.

Dumb men are splooging into dumb women as we speak. When you analyze this situation, take this fact into consideration.

We need to remove profit as the driving motive for everything in society IMO.
And replace it with what? And how are you going to implement it? This isn't me being snarky, btw. I legitimately want to hear your idea. I can't think of any that will be an acceptable substitute for those who are making the changes that will impact society.

No, but I think everyone's IQ should be

public record.

IQ is a flawed system, probably not the best way to go.

I support a large socialist government with strong market controls :)

Of course transparency and oversight would be paramount in such a society

Look at how quickly society breaks down in times of stress. Also, look at all of the people in society that prey on others with scams. Charities that might help a few people but their main purpose is to make money for the people that run them. Universities that do nothing but supply money to their owners and put their students deep into debt. People cooperate only if it is an advantage to themselves to do so. We've seen how politicians can win election by appealing to their constituents baser instincts.
I agree on all of these points. But people are what you incentivize them to be. They're not necessarily bad people, but if you change the metrics to incentivize cooperation, then you will see them do collective good.

I just can't think of a single society where that has ever worked. Large-scale socialism has crushed economies with central planning, but it hasn't ever been able to compete in the long-term with capitalistic societies. The human species has tried the socialism experiment again and again throughout the 1900's, and so far, no one can get it right. It seems extremely improbable that socialism is the correct answer.

I honestly don't know enough about it's history. Which nations have implemented large-scale socialism in the recent past?

Capitalism just seems to lead to wealth being accumulated at the top, and a ton of inefficiency through competition.

Here is a list.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_socialist_states

Capitalism isn't perfect by any means, but it's the least bad system we have. And if we look back at the states where socialism has been enacted, those societies had huge income inequality. It was just done through corruption, greed, and it was owned by the political elites instead of the economic elites. And competition, while it has its drawbacks, actually seems to spur more innovation than anything else does. It creates necessity to advance or be crushed by the competition, so survival instincts make for a pretty powerful motivation to keep advancing.

Yes.

Sometimes I consider this question when I walk into a public washroom and toilets are clogged full of shit and won't flush, the ones that aren't clogged have the toilet seats down and covered in piss, the area under urinals are covered in piss, people walk out of stalls and walk straight out of the bathroom without washing their hands and I think to myself, God help us, if a small group of people cannot take the time to practice proper hygiene and etiquette, then how in the fuck will people of different beliefs, morals and social and financial classes ever come together and get along?

Seems pretty silly to judge the whole of humanity on the state of public washrooms, but it makes sense to me.

Nah that tribal thinking will always have us at each others throat. That guy has more money, that guy has hotter women, a better car, he looks different, etc.

Hell the vast majority of human conflict is over differences in melanin expression, and belief in different versions of the same sky wizard. If we'll fight over that stupid shit, we'll fight over anything.

Tribalism. It's ingrained into our psyche to be wary of anything that is different than us. To unify, a group/tribe needs an enemy. The enemy will always be something that is different from the group. We will never look or act the same, therefore we will never truly unify.

Yep it's been ingrained in our collective subconscious since the beginning. Maybe in hundreds or thousands of years we'll progress past it, but I doubt it.

Yes, but not willingly. Most of humanity will be forced to give up their individuality and be absorbed into a hivemind after the technological singularity occurs. The world's dominant AI will take your "soul" from you and you won't exist anymore. That's the sad fate that awaits most people.

In a world with antimatter powered cars and other absurd technologies, one moron could accidentally blow up the planet trying to plug in his TV. Individual free will is too dangerous to exist in that world and that world is under 100 years away.
