Why's banning transgenders in the military controversial?

ok since everyone is appears to be missing my point is. If your fit to fight and a good solider, i dont think i give a rats ass. I said nothing about being bling or whatever.

And that's the problem. I can speak for what I do and I'm pretty sure the military does the same.

There is a push to get females on board and the physical standards have certainly been altered to accomplish this.

There is no place for political correctness in life safety professions. It can literally be a matter of life or death. I've personally seen certain tactics avoided on emergency scenes where protocols were not followed because a female could not lift the equipment.

If a female can make the standard, I have no problem with them, but if they can't, altering standards to make the numbers work is complete bullshit. It's not making us better. It's making us weaker and it will affect people's lives. Maybe even someone in your family.
Ah I did six years. On ships women cannot help the men escape a flooded compartment. Thy aren't strong enough

lmao that's gotta be the worst way to go out:

Last seconds -- Sarah open the escape hatch! Sarah? Sarah? "I can't lift 200 lbs sir!" "That's OK Sarah. At least we were politically correct!" ughh. .. choking on water, suffocating.

They can't even handle our equipment like hydrant valves and ladders, much less having to drag a victim or another firefighter from a structure.

That's terrible, but lol

I remember when black females cutting their hair like Eve from the Ruff Ryders gave these mother fuckers heart burn. Some of them made that shit look better than Eve too.

Crazy always gon be attracted to the military tho.

Just lost a friend on the McCain that way. I hope to god that isn't part of the equation.

And no that didn't offend me, don't apologize

But If you require hormone therapy, or any type of long term medical care, you're not fit to serve. Friend Of mine, never failed a fitness test, and never missed weight was sent home after 11 years honorable service, because he suddenly dropped an unusual amount of weight.. where talking 5'11 180 to like 145 and other issues.. he was diagnosed type 1, went on insulin, was otherwise back to fighting shape and sent packing.

every generation, retards look to ban people from shit. 50 years ago, this conversation would be about why its such a big deal to keep negroes out of the regular army. Then it was the gays. Now its the trans.

new decade, new target. but its always the same old bigots stirring the pot.

I think it's controversial because most people haven't served and don't really have any idea what military life is like. When you enlist, your initial enlistment is usually for 6 years. Of those 6 six years, a good 6 months to possibly 2 years, you're in training. After that, you get sent to your unit and begin your military career. During your enlistment, your are expected deployable. If a person opts for gender reassignment surgery, they will be considered unfit for deployment, schools, maybe promotions for close to a year. Add up the time you spend training and healing from the surgery and that could very well be half an enlistment right there. All this without taking into consideration the costs involved in turning some random person off the street into someone who is fully mission capable. I'm sure there are also policies and logistical issues that need to thought out before trans genders can once again join the ranks.

Preferably after their transition. The government in no way, shape or form should be paying for these surgeries.

Smashing the report button due to ruffled feathers is a complete bitch move.

@dream take note of this...

Wow a staff member bashing people for using services that are supposed to make this site better. Snitches get stitches I guess smh
Using it when rules are broken is one thing. Getting your feelings hurt and crying about it is another.

No one has the right to offend you though, people here should have a safe space to vent and discuss topics without being harassed

All you are doing is painting a target on your back. Being a tattle tale will just draw attention to yourself and get you infractions easier. I never hit the report button unless they're those spam threads that are in a foreign language. Or an E-Suicide involving scat porn.

Just because you get offended easier than other people do, doesn't mean you should try and make 1000's of other people play by your rules. If you don't like it find another message board to post on.

This is a message board. How are you being harassed? Are you in danger from all of the hurtful words?

I agree though that it's difficult to have a debate without people losing their shit. However, I view posters who get their pannies in a wad, weak minded, frail, individuals. Also, once someone starts hurting insults and rage cussing, you've won. That's usually a sign of defeat.

@dream

That post wasn't for you. I know your game, sir. I'm not shattered over it. It was for the ones who really believe what you posted.

First of all, yes they do. Your pansy feelings are not protected by law.

Second of all, If there is anyone on Sherdog that screams of "I'm a virgin", @dream is your guy.
