Usman came to the US when he was 5. Dude was raised in the US. He's more American than Nigerian.
Kelvin Gastelum, Cain Velázquez, Ricardo Lamas, Uriah Hall, Stipe Miocic (to a lesser extent) and a host of other fighters all do the same.

It seems being a proud American in 2017 pisses people off

Why would they show allegiance for the flag of a backwards bigoted country where half the population are yokels who would happily deport their entire family?

they are not proud of a SJW weak welfare society who believe they're entitled to free everything

Why would anyone come to a backwards bigoted country where half the population are yokels who would happily deport the entire family of immigrants?

This. you need to play up the things that make you different to stand out.

Anybody who's nigerian will instantly identify with usman
The way MMA fans are if he wins the belt one day there is going to be a bunch of "im half nigerian" people on sherdog

The same reason Americans say they are Canadians when they travel overseas. Everyone hates Americans.

Cause it's trendy.

Heh, this isn't going as bad as I thought. At least not yet.

Hating America is trendy and encouraged by American media paving the way for the New World Order One World Government.
