Why should Connor return to UFC?

when Conor was about to finish Floyd.

The Ref saved Floyd from Conor's rampage onslaught of violence that was about to occur.

Dana has stated they have hit financial roadblock with Conor wanting to Co Promote with for all future Conor UFC events. Fact is out GSP and Jones, no other fighters can do 1 million PPV buys.

Conor has 3 choices:

1. Fight Paulie in boxing. Give UFC a much smaller cut this time. +30 Million
2. Fight Tony in UFC. + 10 Million assuming UFC doesn't budge on Co Promoting.
3. Fight GSP at LW. +20 Million. Could be biggest UFC gate of all time. Over 2 Million PPV buys.

1.- Casuals would buy that at a rate good for +30 million purse, just for Conor? Pauly isnt at Floyd PPV level.
2.- Co-promoting isnt happening, Conor wasnt even listed on the promoters for MayMac. He got a logo on the poster tho.
3.- GSP can make LW? Fight could be at WW, as usual Conor would be the "challenger", both not champions there, but the one going after the WW goat is Conor.

What I took away from that gif is that Floyd hits like a girl. Fight was BS. Referee stopped the fight for a low blow when Conor was about to finish Floyd.

Is that you, Skip Bayless?

Conor stated several times on the World Tour he was getting Promoter Checks just like the UFC. Officially produced by Showtime and Mayweather productions. UFC and Conor co promoted. War Conor vs Paulie

1) Defend his belt.
2) Defend his belt.
3) Defend his belt.

Because he is the linear champ. He beat the man who beat the man.
And as a champion he has a duty to defend against contenders ,that s why he would come back
Defend or vacate

Why should we talk about him if he isn't going to return to the UFC?

I don't care about how much money he can make outside of the cage. I'm not his accountant, his coke dealer, or his wife. I'm a fight fan. So my reason for thinking he should return to the UFC is to defend a fucking belt; if you're as good as your fans say you are, fight contenders not refs.

This obsession with how much money a guy can make is weird.
+1

Conor will never defend either belt. He will fight GSP next or Paulie next. Cowboys stadium.
He is singlehandedly changing the quality of mma viewers, and not in a good way.

UFC copromoted with Mayweather promotions, according to NSAC page, a third promoter called TGB is listed, doesnt looks like Mcgregor officially co-promoted the fight.

He is who he is because of what he's doing via UFC. If he leaves, he'll be half of that if not worse cause the MMA landscape changes quick and people just forget & move on.

He's still done great to live a good life and he'd need to walk away at some point anyway, but there's still a lot he can mine from UFC. Seems a bit too early to walk away now.

Personally, of course, I'd like to see him fight, but there are enough other fighters to tune in for.

Agreed ^^^ I don't get a share so I don't care I wanna see you throw down. Fight or F*k off. Why would the UFC make him a partner when he hasn't shown he can hold a belt without picking a princess to fight. Even some Connie's starting to see the light that somethings not right.

Connor is torn right now.

He really wants the GSP fight because he knows that's the second biggest money fight of his entire career but he also knows GSP will beat his ass like he owed him money. It would make BJ Penn II look like soft porn.

-Third fight with Diaz does more money then Conor vs Tony. Every other weight class in the UFC has had non number 1 contenders fight for the title.. even recently GSP just fought for the belt when there is an interim Champ already in the division, along with a Champ. Nate is top ten at LW and holds a win over Conor, Conor's only loss in the UFC, and if Nate were to beat Conor, him as Champ vs Interim Champ Tony, could be marketed correctly and help the WME get from under the Conor era in the 155 division. Because imo, Conor beats Tony, and in doing so, his demands become more ridiculous, and his antics more disrespectful.. which makes him bigger then the UFC eventually, and that can't happen.
-If all parties were creative, they would do Diaz vs Conor 3 in Vegas or LA, in the BOXING RING, BOXING match.. plus it keeps the belt with Conor without him losing it if he gets beat by Nate. UFC gets a bigger market by making the fight a boxing match. UFC boxing and McGregor Promotions get to do a huge event and begin that venture. Win or lose, he gets to defend his LW belt against 155 interim champ (let Tony defend the interim and fight Barboza/Khabib winner, while Conor box's Nate) when he decides to return to the cage in the summer of 2018. They could add Cody vs Cub as the co-main, DJ vs Edgar, Duffy vs CVH.. all boxing matches. Plus do another boxing event in NY duringredients 2018, with Nick vs Masvidal main event, Stipe vs Bisping as the co-main, Woodley vs Gastelum, Cruz vs Malignaggi, all boxing matches.
-I doubt GSP makes 155 now, nor do I think he would he attempt it.. the fight would have to be at 170 and GSP is just too skilled for Conor in the end. If Conor takes that, he does so looking at it like the Floyd fight, and is in it to get the big payday knowing he will probably lose.
-I doubt he fights Paulie in a boxing match, because it would have to be at 147lbs and it appears Conor isn't willing to cut that much weight again. Would be interesting though in part, because both men have the same amount of one punch ko's in their careers.. so would be interesting if Paulie ko's Conor.

Probably to make money? He has a contract with the UFC, and even though he has good leverage to negotiate, he can't go fight other places without getting into trouble.

This. He fights with the UFC's consent and blessing or he doesn't fight. And while it may seem like he has the UFC by the balls, it only seems that way. In reality neither one really needs the other at this point. The UFC can exist just fine without Conor, and Conor certainly does not need to make another dollar unless he is galactically stupid.

If Conor want's to stay relevant, he will have to fight at some point.
