Why is the U.S. not involved in stopping Ethnic Cleansing in Myanmar?

Bingo. 800,000 in Palestine, 2 million in Cambodia, 6 million Jews from the holocaust, 78 million in China, just to name a few. Nothing new. Let us not intervene. We are not the world's policemen. No one is attacking the U.S. Why support the Israelis, the Middle East, South Korea, and Europe? Why help and support some but not others?
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Sounds great but it doesn't work that way. Look at the flood western Europe has taken. Are they exempt from terrorism?

Excellent point. But helping in Myanmar would make great PR and propaganda for the U.S.

Why aren't muslim countries rushing in to help them?

Exactly. I mentioned ISIS earlier.

Shhhhhh.

If Trump finds out about this he'll start bombing the shit out of the Rohingya.

I think we need to grow a pair of 'balls' like this man had, from Tennessee, and go defend the defenseless.

U.S. Army Special Forces motto: “De oppresso liber” = “To free the oppressed".

Wow, you are being serious? Sounds great but it doesn't work that way. Many of our current refugees are Muslim; they should be loving us more each day already.

Look at the flood western Europe has taken. Are they exempt from terrorism? They spend ton following people around ao they don't get attacked by them.

Conversely how often do we hear about plots in poland and Hungary

Why aren't muslim countries rushing in to help them?
For the same reason fellow Muslims are the primary targets of extremist attacks, the extremists don't give a fuck about religion; it's just an excuse for their heinous acts. It's something people have been trying to communicate to islamophobes for decades.

This is what I don't like about USA. We think we need to be some kinda hero and get into everyone's business. No reason for us to be in Vietnam, Korea and now Myanmar or Burma. Quit being nosy. America is not UN. It's the UN's job. UN will/should step in if UN finds it to be against some kinda international human rights law or whatever. But first UN will have to talk to Myanmar and everyone in part first.

As to why America thought it was ok to step in Vietnam, Korea, etc. it was because of the selfish leaders of the free world don't want more communism countries. They think Communism is bad and it will spread to the West if we don't stop them in the East. It was stupid then and it's stupid now. That's why there were so many protests.

Sunni Muslims are not targeting Sunni Muslims in the same fashion as other groups of Muslims.

So “fellow” Muslims are not the primary target because they fight between different sects and don’t see each other as real Muslims.

Muslims killing Buddhists in their homeland is ethnic cleansing. I'm not excusing it.
this has little to do with religion. hence ethnic cleansing.

there are Muslims serving in Myanmar's government etc.

Rambo told us this like ten years ago...

just saying

also the most savage movie ever that nobody talks about

You believed the humanitarian reasons given as P.R. when the U.S. launched their wars, these were lies crafted so the public would not thwart their war aims. Mainly the balkanization of the Middle East on the behest of Israel.

Story: https://www.nbcnews.com/health/heal...-one-many-disasters-rohingya-refugees-n830351

Violent rape just one of many disasters for Rohingya refugees. “I have had women come in who were gang-raped or brutally raped and are now recovering from fistulas but I have never heard so many stories of so many women being publicly raped and then killed,” Aerlyn Pfeil

"Groups such as MSF (Medecins Sans Frontieres/Doctors Without Borders) say the Burmese military is using systematic rape to help drive away the country’s Muslims, known as Rohingya. About 630,000 Rohingya have fled Buddhist-dominated Myanmar into Bangladesh to escape what the United Nations has called ethnic cleansing. They’re living in squalid refugee camps where groups like MSF are trying to keep them fed and cared for."

Reminds me of the U.S. after Vietnam. Life in Cambodia under the Khmer Rouge Regime in 1975, where the Khmer Rouge forced millions of people into the countryside to undertake agricultural work. Two million Cambodians died during the evacuations, nearly a quarter of the country's then population. The U.S. did nothing.

So, let's see, not Cambodia or Myanmar, but for El Salvador, Nicaragua, Panama, Haiti, Iraq, Somalia, Kuwait, South Korea, and Yugoslavia it was ok. What is the 'litmus test'? Oil, politics, and strategic location? Men, women and children being tortured and killed were never really part of the reason now were they? Obama made that clear in Syria and Iraq.

How about bombing the shit out of the Burmese Army? Would it really be all that hard? ...and again, the fucking UN can't be counted on for shit. Why don't the British, French or Germans do something? Why isn't ISIS involved? These are Muslims being killed. World reaction is disgusting.

Do worry bro the UN got this. As for the US, damed if you do damed if you don’t.

U.S. foreign policy is mainly bent towards maintaining "world dominance" as the sole super-power. Everything should be viewed through that lens. Plus the influence of such Powerful lobbies like AIPAC, military contractors etc.

Ah, well, let me see, human lives. Are Jewish lives more important at $3.8 billion a year? Are South Korean lives more important?

Yes. There are seven billion humans on the planet and they are not all of equal worth. Israel is arguably America's most important ally in the Middle East. South Korea is financially important on a global scale.

The Rohingya Muslims are, bluntly, worthless to America and the West. They can offer us nothing we want, and we owe them nothing; we have no shared history. They are simply not worth spending money and possibly American lives on protecting.

The moment one bullet goes astray or the bulls the school yellow instead of red it’ll be because we are antimuslim and we’ll still be the villain.

Depressingly accurate. Safest option is to let Muslim countries handle it.

The UN was present in Korea.

Communism in the various forms it presented itself is bad.

Name me a communist government that isn't full of the same selfishness that you find in every other society, despite their "for the people" bullshit.

Waiting for the UN is essentially waiting for the paperwork to go through, when the US could just have it handled in about 24 hours.

America is not UN. It's the UN's job. UN will/should step in if UN finds it to be against some kinda international human rights law or whatever.

<Lmaoo>...well, maybe when 'pigs start flying' the UN will get involved, which means never. Did they step in in Cambodia, China, Palestine, Iraq or Syria? No other country moves a 'pawn' until the U.S. gets involved.

Too bad the Rohingya Muslims did not have a holocaust. So the Jews have more value than the Rohingyans? Why doesn't Israel step in? Did they not go through the same ordeal during WWII? Where is the empathy and compassion? Have they learned nothing from their experience? But they don't give 'two shits' about anyone else, to include Americans. Great chance for them to earn some 'brownie' points with the Muslims.
