Why is Lauzon fighting the guy who lost to Diego

Yeah, but Marcin lost to Diego...therefore he is ranked lower than Diego...and Joe beat Diego...therefore he is ranked higher than Diego. So why give Lauzon a major step back in terms of rankings. Unless the UFC just treats vets as showcase fights and doesn't actually see them as viable contenders anymore.
Ranking don't factor in until you hit the top 15 which neither are in.

Your idea of a "major step back" happen on every card.

After already destroying Diego?

Its a good matchup.

Two submission specialists with similar experience despite being almost ten years apart in age.

They are both coming off of losses.

I see no problem.

Because Marcin is a Bellator guy and they are sacrificing him to veterans

That's precisely what Joe did in his last fight with Miller too.

I am willing to overlook any flawed matchmaking to see Marcin Held fight Lauzon. Even if Lauzon wins, I hope Held fights Miller next.

Because the fight is gonna be fucking amazing. Two of the most aggressive grapplers in all of MMA facing off, neither of whom will be afraid to engage on the mat. It's gonna be glorious.

Yea the fight at altitude isn't a fair way to assess marcins ability, being it his debut as well in the ufc. Wouldn't be surprised to see him sub Lauzon at some point, so I'll take Held.

Who cares, Lauzon is fighting.

Came here to say exactly this, and you beat me to it.
