If you want to understand truth, you have to look under many rocks. I agree that you ought to learn native history. But there's also value in engaging with the type of posters here who will say what they think unfiltered. You won't get that same rough opinion from those on the left, even if they secretly think it.

As a Native, I see under all the rocks. I left the reserve live in town and see the racism towards Natives as well the people that are being racist towards Natives.

I'm not some ignorant pile of shit that only looks down on Native's (@Seano) but I do see the problem and understand where it actually stems from.

Personally, I believe people like you do a lot more to keep minorities down while you think you champion them. Your "its everywhite else's fault" is exactly why there is no ambition for people to better themselves. Native people as a whole are moving in leaps and bounds now and substance abuse on the reserve is getting less and less. There are a lot more native people now that are leaving the reserve and more importantly the ones that are staying on reserve are progressing well in development for their communities. The major problem that Natives have now is the hostility and resentment from you people. definitely not directed at solely whites because there are A LOT of really good ones. But the fuckers, man, the real pieces of shit like you are the ones that are causing the biggest problem. Always have been, always will be.

In Ontario the last residential school closed in '96. The only reason the world may look crazy from my eyes is because I see what is really happening in Ontario against native people for the past 500 years from immigrant terrorists.

Whenever Natives have tried to open their own grocery stores or businesses they have always been denied by the government and shut down.

It is happening less and less now that residential schools have been closed and more and more native people are standing up for their human rights everyday and ignoring the government laws as well as reclaiming their "crown" land. But the problem still persists from opposition and blatant racism and aggression from you people.

Outside of a reservation, no one won't even know you're not hispanic, who make up 17% and growing of the US population. ~50% or more in many places. There will be no day-to-day racism. At least not anymore than 1/5 the population already lives with and deals with.

Most Americans have never seen a Native American in their lives. There's no kind of hate or racism towards Native American individuals.

Aren't Natives largely incentivized to live and work on reservations? Reservation schools are typically shit, crime is high, and don't leave that cycle of reservation life. I can see why someone who doesn't feel like they have a strong sense to determine their own future turns to alcohol or drugs.

The town I grew up in had a village. There were signs you'd see when entering that said "Now Leaving USA" (obviously made by the residents). It was a very insulated from the rest of the community, although some people left. Most of them either work for casino's or other res jobs. And on payday, they flood the local bars and generally act like drunk assholes. It rubs off on the kids, too. Most of the fights we had in high school were because a group from the res crashed our parties.

But if I lived on the res my whole life I'd probably be an unapologetic drunk too. Horrible education (which leads to poor health for the community), racial stigma, blatantly corrupt tribal police... I doubt any of them knew there were more options out there for them. They just caught glimpses of what the rest of us had, and it pissed them off that they didn't have it.

I never noticed the mestizos in NYC or LA ever having any issues with alcohol that most people dont have. In fact, they seem like normal party goers like everyone else.

My best friend growing up was from Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota one of the poorest regions in the entire US. It's so bad there (went there for his funeral, KIA in Iraq, RIP) that alcohol is totally banned, so they all head over the border to White Clay, Nebraska to buy it. While on the way there, I noticed two separate older Native gentlemen passed out IN THE STREET on the SD side. One had a bottle of rubbing alcohol in his hand ffs

But if they cant metabolize it, then wont that cause them extreme discomfort? With that extreme discomfort, will come an extreme adversion to it. That is why asians dont have a high rate dependency problem with alcohol. They get horrible stomach cramps.
