My mistake I thought it was REM but it was this Gary Jules. I don’t like it. Tears for Fears is one I grew up on so I don’t like covers of songs I love unless they are amazing.
For example,
Hurt- Johnny Cash
Gone Away- Five finger death punch
Piss me off because they don’t do it for me and I love the originals.
But then you have Jimi with All along the watchtower and Mushroomhead with Crazy

Johnny's cover was brutal, brutally good.
Most covers suck. Jimi is Jimi. could make any song great.
I like punk mostly, and some good covers.
Sound of Silence, can't think of the metal band..don't like it.
Alien ant Farm's Smooth criminal is pretty good, just because the guy does a good Michael Jackson sounds on it.
too many covers that are good, some horrible though

Still a better time than a shotgun to the head whilst listening to that soul crushing song... that's just my opinion though.

FFDP did a good cover. Not into them though.
System of a down does a good cover of Berlin's Metro and Black Sabbath's Snowblind.
Look up Metalica's garage days.

Man, nobody can due Bruce Dickinson justice, but that was pretty good. Grew up on listening to Maiden and such.
Fear of the Dark...forever be the fave though. Hallowed, follows real close.
