As all of the millennials grow up and out of the sport of mma, we will be replaced by the newer generations that may not have gone through the UFC late Middle Ages where GSP defended the WW title.

It was an impressive run, he took on the best WW’s in the world and didn’t duck any deserving number 1 contender.

That being said, our society is now much less patient than it used to be because technology allows us to instantaneously research a fighter’s wiki fight record and videos of him/her fighting.

That being said GSP might be the wiki champion of all time. An impressive record with maybe only Khabib threatening it with 0 losses rather than GSP’s 2. But with further analysis into the wiki of each goat fighter, many will see that GSP retired at 32 when many consider that their “prime”. Other goat fighters such as Anderson, Fedor and Aldo continued to fight well past their “prime” years and that is where they accrued most of their losses. By simple deduction, a person can see that if GSP continued to fight he would probably sufferer the same losses. Especially considering GSP’s last controversial fight with Hendricks which he immediately retired from the sport. The performance enhancing drugs of Anderson was when he suffered a catastrophic leg break well past his prime. Jones used peds when he was still young so it’s less excusable. So ped use once you are in your mid to late 30’s is more understandable if you wish to compete at the highest level rather than retire.

GSP never was caught for peds, though he only fought 1 fight under USADA. So that is a good thing for him even though a little extra research from an mma casual will reveal that GSP cherry picked his 1 USADA fight with an old veteran who was on his way out.

The biggest problem for GSP goat sayers is that he doesn’t have a good highlight reel. Going back to one of my original points, if you research GSP then you have his wiki and his videos. GSP while winning most rounds during his impressive title defense was never able to produce any significant footage of a fight being stopped. He nullified opponents and won rounds which is hard to encapsulate in a Short video for the new generations watching mma. It was “boring” and methodical rather than daring and ferocious. Nobody goes back and watches GSP out jab and wrestle control other fighters for the victory.

So while the wiki stat sheet looks good with all the W, the YouTube generation is not impressed by his performance.

Fedor, Anderson, Jones, Aldo, DC > GSP

GSP also has the most boring highlight reel and fights among GOAT contenders. No one will want to rewatch his 5 round snoozefests 20 years from now.

Yeah because GSP was smart enough to not fight way past his prime and sabotage his own legacy

As someone who both appreciates and studies technical martial arts skill, there's no fighter whose old fights I watch more than GSP's

Impatient fans who only want to see blood and gore don't appreciate GSP's fight IQ and technique

Is normal

I got most of the way through that and stopped reading…

So I can't say I didn't read it.

I’m sure it keeps GSP up at night wondering what you think.

Lmfao actually Anderson failed the very FIRST time he ever underwent RANDOM drug testing. Then he failed AGAIN under the same random drug testing system. Anderoid and Jon "Juiced to the Bones" Jones are the Mark MaGuire (sp?) and Lance Armstrong of MMA, respectively. Nice smear thread though.

GSP will always remain a goat.

GSP will always remain GOAT in this sport just like how Pele and other ancient survived time within their own sport. GOAT never die within their own sports. There name will go on as long as that sport is practiced

Fedor
Gsp
Dc
Khabib
Dj/Aldo

Stats wise, his resume still looks extremely impressive, though. A newer fan who couldn't be arsed going back and watching all of it (or any of it) will still see 26-2 next to his name including two world titles and the most title defenses in Welterweight history, and if they scroll through his list of fights, they'll see that he avenged both of his losses, too. There's not a man alive right now that can say they beat GSP in a fight that he can't say the exact same thing about.

GSP haters be like

He's the GOAT. Deal wit it.

I think they should book GSP VS Khabib and Tony VS Conor @ Cowboy Stadium . With Winner Vs Winner

I actually read it twice to make sure it was really as nonsensical as i thought it was.

Lol

The goats don't die out. You should get educated in MMA. Or don't. Just don't make threads

<GSPWoah>

<{gspressed}>

GSP aint going nowhere from goat talk.

neither is fedor. jones and anderson have faded off into obscurity for their multiple failed tests.

GSP 1.0 was a fookin beast tho. Go watch those videos. Can he still be GOAT now?

Dafuq..

If you are a new fan and see that stat, it wouldn’t take much more research to find out that he retired after a controversial loss pre USADA at the age of 32. Most fighters keep fighting but he stopped. He only came back to cherry pick and it’s not that hard to figure out.

So what your left with is videos which isn’t nearly as impressive as other goats.

TS can't handle GSP riddim

He was a high draw for whatever reason so he could retire earlier? If Fedor retired at 32 he would have a better wiki than GSP with better highlights also.
