Why doesn't Communism work?

no incentive to innovate. no incentive to work harder than the next guy. although, china's hybrid form of communism seems to being doing fairly well for some of its people.

It works at a community level. It is difficult to integrate into a large nationalist system.

It was invented by an arrogant asshole out of thin air who thought he could come up with a perfect system even though he himself acknowledged that capitalism worked and was better than the previous systems. I honestly think that if Marx himself had seen what the various strains of Marxism had done to the world, he would have disavowed his own system. Marx coming up with the system in and of itself wasn't the problem, the problem was that some stupid, naive and outright evil people actually listened to him and tried to implement it.

That it is centralized power, that even if setup correctly to begin with, would become corrupt over time, with no check or balance against that centralized power.

It is basically a path to Nero or Stalin.
