Why do UFC prospects always fail?

Was just thinking the other day about the amount of champs, former champs and top fighters that came from strike force.

Coker bless.

because the UFC is the best of the best, these aren't WSOF or Bellator tier fighters that they have to go against here. UFC hand picks the best fighters from organizations all around the world and test their mettle with the old-guard (gate keepers etc.) The problem is alot of the old guys are getting smarter about their fighting and finding ways to beat less experienced prospects.

Eryk Anders is still a great prospect. Don't you find it amazing that he went from playing College Ball to being this 11-2-0 beast that KO's people left and right? He fought till he couldn't stand up and held his own against Tiago Santos with only 6 days notice (even less time to practice if you add all the media, weight cutting, flying out to brazil)

Brian Oretga is hands down the best prospect to come out of the UFC in the past year. Renato Moiciano is pretty damn good its just a shame he crossed paths with Ortega.

Yair Rodriguez, Zabit Magomeme, Sean O'Mally, and Dominick Reyes. Just give it sometime, the contender series is gunna bring alot of new talent.

Well, some of it has to do with the UFC rushing them into big fights because they need to fill up a card like Till for instance most recently. He had the potential to generate a big fan base in the UK and they put up against Wonderboy in the UK where he was lucky to get a decision and then put him up against Woodley because Woodley was inactive and wanted a card that suited him, after Colby refused so soon, they needed an opponent and Till was rushed in despite him saying he shouldn't get the next title shot. It's not like boxing where prospects are given years to develop and beat up cans, if you got the UFC and win a few fights and generate hype, you are likely being put in with a contender and you beat a couple of them the champ.

In WMMA, you win one fight in the UFC and you are ranked, win two you are in title contention and win three, you are a top contender and likely title challenger. Which can happen after two or even one really. Or first in the org.

How dare you speak about women that way.

Prospects often have padded records and get kept away from potentially dangerous match ups to persevere the record until they no longer can, and get found out

Because TUF sucks, that’s why. Winning that show is nothing like winning an actual fight with an actual training camp. They’re spending more time looking for reality tv stars than great fighters.

depends on the prospect and how they bring them up....I find most prospects they just feed nobodies and hype the shit out of them, then they face real competition and are basically broken after (Roger Huerta after Florian/Yair Rodriguez after Edgar now lol)

AJ McKee got 11 fights to find his footing before being thrown in against a good vet in Macapa.

Anders came right out of the gate to fight Natal, and shortly thereafter Machida. The easy answer is, Coker feeds his guys for as long as he can, while the UFC pushes a prospect and gives them a tough test in less than 5 fights.
