Why are people getting injured/ missing fights so much more now than before??

USADA has a lot to do with it.

Easy

1) No IV
2) Medical Insurance
3) USADA

Medical benefits that allow them to absorb the lost income and a lack of steroids to repair soft tissue fast enough.

The old school boys had the luxury of having steroids ooze out of their body...
That would be a pretty kickass luxury, I want to roid-rage like Lattimer

Just a theory: maybe guys are overtraining because they are doing this full time. Just a guess. Probably a lousy one because guys have done this full time for a while

USADA, many more cards and slots to fill so fighters not getting cut as quickly as before, so not worried bout being pulled out?

I remember talking on a uk mma forum back in the day, if I remember rightly fucking James Thompson was rumored to be making $75k/$75k back in the day. Maybe I’m making those numbers up, but I remember them being proper mind blowing.
Yeah I believe Gary Goodridge was paid $100k for a fight. I remember hearing/reading that somewhere. Might be BS but I think they got better pay then most of the current fighters.

Give the fighters back their steroids and we'll have less pull outs.

Eliminate the weight cutting, not USADA.
