why are image links so jacked up?

someone links an image in p&m
instead of being able to copy the link like normal, you try to do it on sherdog and it comes up something like

I think the going theory is that photobucket is charging for hotlinking

Just right click on the image you want to post and click "copy" then right click in the reply box and click paste.

If it's from google a lot of times you gotta wait for it to get the correct address. When you first try to copy a link it puts out some bogus link, I've noticed this is especially true with .gifs. It also helps to open link in new tab then it usually comes up fine.
