Bellator are signing young promising prospects and UFC free agents at will.

Is it because of the Reebok deal? USADA? WME being in huge debt? Lack of fighter pay and respect by the UFC?

    Thoughts?

Because there is plenty of pie Bellator would be more than happy to have half of it. The UFC cannot be on top forever it's impossible.

I mean do you expect them to come out and say "we'll never beat the UFC, we'll always be #2"?

I don't think they are confident or they'd likely be spending a little more money short term than they are. IMO they're happy being a reasonable viable #2. Seriously, name another sport that has a #2 that's even in the same universe as the #1 organization?

MLB and the minor leagues? NBA and WNBA? NFL and CFL? etc. Bellator is a much closer #2 than anyone else, and they don't have to overtake the UFC to remain viable and profitable.

Same way China's basketball league will eventually overtake the NBA. NBA keeps fucking up by losing stars to them, so it is inevitable.

I think having a legit alternative organization compared to the UFC is only good for the sport, the fans and the athletes will both benefit, or should anyways. I wish Bellator would stop fucking around with fighters moving divisions and 'babying' their prospects.

In case you havent noticed, the ufc is currently crashing and burning. Literally everything that can go wrong is going wrong for them. The ufc is a disaster on several fronts. Fertittas got out just in time.

Yeah, NBA is still reeling from losing Stephon Marbury. Is he still a B-ball God in China?

WME has been really pissing me off by not pushing for matches which advance the division.

    And my opinion counts.

They’re not trying to overtake the UFC. They’re trying to capture enough market share so the UFC buys them out for a ton of cash. That’s why Coker is sitting in the top seat cause he has proven that he can achieve that goal

I thought Strikeforce was a close #2 but Bellator seems to be getting worse to me. Chandler and Lima are all I care about over there but Rory is about take out that dude and Chandler is hot and cold.
