Who'll be in the Road FC 32-Man Lightweight Tournament?

My MMA coach is in this, Shinji Sasaki. He just won as well. I'm amazed at how much you get emotionally invested when you know and train with the fighter.

Just had a thought, George Roop is probably Yui-Chul Nam's opponent on group B of the international trials.

I love this tournament format. Even if I do not know who the 99% of the fighters are it is pretty refreshing to see things like this.

Plus props to all sherdoggers who regularly post here and keep us update.

@bokeboke , your coach fighting there must be awesome!

You guys are not taking into account that 31 people have to lose. If the risk is getting paid pennies for a chance at a million. Why would they take that gamble?

Watch when its announced. There will not be many name dudes.

1 out of 32 are some good odds. it's a good gamble to take.

I was bummed for Shinji when he lost the fight for the belt against A-Sol .Very emotional he didn't get to take it home to his wife. I hope he wins this tourney to get back to A-Sol. You got a great trainer bro

Opening round scheduled for June. Internationals trials and round two of China trials for April.

has anyone been granted those yet?
It hasn't been announced, but it's a good possibility they already have them filled.

The opening round matchups for the DEEP trials are Yuki Okano vs Kota Shimoishi and Luiz Andrade I vs Kimihiro Eto

I'm curious to see how they will set up the Opening round and later. Will they go with a real bracket? Will they subscribe to the usual Asian tournament fuckery of deciding the matchups before each round?

Former M-1 and BAMMA champ Mansour Barnaoui joins the B group on the International Trials. He faces Won Bin Ki who won an alternate bout at ROAD FC 36.

Barnaoui has to be one of the favorites to win it all, great addition

That makes three or four bouts official for group B, instead of two. I guess they're not going to have any direct seeds after all. Works for me. Make everyone work their way in.

This tourny really stacking up nicely now ,ill take ronys torres to win the whole thing though
