They predicted Clinton to win the popular vote by 2-5%, which she did. I believe her popular vote win was 2.3%. In the aggregate, they gave Trump a 15% chance or so of winning, which he did. They didn't give him a zero percent chance. The less likely thing happening isn't evidence of any kind.

Remember when virtually every single polling outlet other than 538 overestimated Romney's electoral performance? I do, yes. I've heard Perry talk politics, and while I'm not really familiar with West, he gets good reviews and sales. Way better at making money than Trump considering their respective starting points, and what he does requires a lot of intelligence. I certainly would not vote for either--even if they were going against Cruz. But smarter than Trump? Yes.
