the 1997 series starts off slow, but is super deep & fucked up.
the 3 movies are basically the 1997 series in movie format but more recent & funded by Warner Brothers
the 2016 series is basically season 2
& the 2017 series is season 3

&hell yeah it has gore. I refer to Berserk as the "Japanese Game of Thrones".

For Berserk, just read the damn manga. The 97 anime is good, but watered down as fuck and only covers one arc (and not even the best one IMO). I'm not really a big manga or comic book reader, but Berserk is just that good.

And the newer adaptations should just be avoided like the plague IMO.

If you like super hero type stuff then probably Naruto. I read the manga but I guess the anime is the same with some filler stuff, which is typical for an anime adaption.

They came out with a PVP style game about a year ago also.

I wasn't a fan of the changes they did in the 2.0 version of the 95 film.
