Who should face Amanda Nunes next

obviously pennington

rankings are bonkers and UFC is biased so holm will probably get the TS

I'd make:

shev vs peña 2 5 ROUND FUCK THE HATERS
holm vs zingano and zingano very likely murders holm here
nunes vs pennington for the TS

winner of nunes vs pennington vs winner of shev vs peña 2

either holm or zingano need a streak before a TS

Who should fight Amanda Nunez next I wanna see a rematch between her and Cat zingano. Who would you guys like to see fight Nunez next?
Cat fights one a year and is coming off two losses.
there is absolutely no reason to have her fight the champ.

Raquel Pennington might be a better option.
He has not fought in 2017, but at least is on a 4 fights win-streak.
Sara McMann is on a 3-1 run (but at least she fought this year)...

Bottom line though, the only one that deserves is Valentina, tbu they just fought.

With Tate & Ronda retiring and Juliana having a baby, this division is in rebuilding mode... and the top fighters are not even fighting, so it is hard to get better...

Rocky is the clear number 1 contender.

Cat should come back and get a win and then she could get a title shot but other than that there isnt much for Nunes.

Pennington makes the most sense to me.

But a fighter not mentioned yet in this thread, but who makes more sense to me for consideration than someone like McMann, is Leslie Smith. Her most recent loss was against Cyborg (and so shouldn't count against her consideration as a bantamweight contender). Smith's victory against Irene Aldana was a well-deserved FOTN-awarded slugfest, and her aggressive move-forward style would ensure that a fight with Nunes would not be dull, and--what's more--if Nunes doesn't manage to K.O. Smith early, Smith's aggression could successfully push Nunes to gas in the later rounds.

I think Smith is currently ranked lower than she should be due to her cauliflower-ear bursting during her fight with Jessica Eye and a doctor stopping that fight (despite Smith wanting to continue)..

I wrote this up to amuse myself when reading the thread and thinking of matchups. I hope people enjoy.

Amanda Nunes (15-4-0) BR (US) (Recently defended title (September).)

Raquel Pennington (9-6-0) US (4 fight streak) Probably the best choice at the moment to challenge Nunes for the UFC Women's Bantamweight Title. (November 2016 last fight)

Aspen Ladd (5-0-0) US (Set to fight Lina Lansberg)

Yanan Wu (9-1-0) CN (Set to fight Gina Mazany)

Holly Holm (11-3-0) US (Possible fight with Cyborg in the making.)

Cat Zingano (9-2-0) US Potential fights developing as she starts getting ready for her re-entry to MMA.
