I know it's hard to tell without getting in there with them, but just based on performance, who do you think is the strongest to ever step in the octagon?

I'm going with Matt Hughes. It's hard to beat that farm boy strength.

Well, that's why I said P4P. If it wasn't I'd say Brock Lesnar, pre surgery come-back, and then Overeem.

overall fitness should be considered because I'm sure there are some guys who can bench 600+ lbs but have no cardio/speed.

If everything is considered, then a prime brock wins. Pure strength he doesn't win though.

Mark Hunt is strong as an Ox and is way stronger than Overeem as seen in the tug of war contest.

Rampage was strong. Lesnar obviously and Hughes.

    I think it's Rampage.

Yeah... In the early days, didn't Tank fight some strongest-man-in-the-world type guy and take him out pretty quickly...? Technically that guy might've been the strongest, but he wasn't really a fighter.

Matt Hughes was a beast and I saw a video of him doing a clean and snatch one handed with 100 pound dumbells and made it look easy. Also Tank was a world ranked powerlifter I thought with a 600+ bench press. I wouldn't concider either Brock or Overeem to be in the top 20 P4P strongest. Biggest? Yes.

Sadly a lot of folks don't read your P4P qualifier. For a fun analogue, P4P, an ant would be stronger than all of the fighters on a fight card combined! :)

Rampage. He was scoop slamming Igor like it was a pro-wrestling match. Ridiculous power, Igor was a clear HW at the time and Rampage was a LHW.

Did you see Lesnar in the WWE? Guy threw a 500+ man like a toy and had him on his shoulders, fake or not that's impressive.

Overeem is probably more show like Kongo.
