Which side of the ranking bar when tying your belt.

What side does the ranking bar (black strip) falls when you tie your belt. I have been told on the right side but I have seen, even black belts wearing the ranking bar on the left. Does it really matter? Thanks. :redface:

Left. But you'll see it on either side, it doesn't really matter.

its just a habit of mine that my strip falls on the right. i feel like Bizarro if I accidently tie it the wrong way.

Obviously it doesn't matter too much, based on just looking up any Gracie and seeing them all doing either or.
If your instructor wants it one way, go with it.

Supposedly there is a correct side. My instructor said Relson mentioned it when he got his BB last month.

I still use my Judo/JJJ white belt which has no black strip so I can never be wrong.
