Please sign and support the petition to get a boxing videogame made for fans of the sport of boxing.https://www.change.org/p/the-boxing-and-gaming-community-want-a-boxing-videogame

It's been nearly 6 years since fans had a console boxing videogame, it's time! Fans have been searching website after website for a boxing videogame news. Fans have Next Generation videogame systems and they want a boxing game. Fans are asking a company to give them a boxing game worthy of their wait and support. I'm asking fans of the sport of boxing, the boxers, and the gaming community to please support this petition and campaign to get a boxing videogame created.

There is a huge group of fans who want realism across the board with a boxing game. They want the true to life tendencies and capabilities of their favorite boxers. Fans want a deep game with the depth of a text sim and incredible graphics like Fight Night. We need boxers, promoters and the boxing community to support any kind of media that can get the sport more fans. A game can turn a casual fan into a hardcore fan if it's done right.

"Boxers are the only athletes that don't make sure their sport is taken seriously with attention to the details of the actual sport. "

I was curious about this myself, and did some research as to why there hasn't even been a whisper of Fight Night Round 6 being in development.

In short, Fight Night Round 5 fell far below sales expectations, while UFC Undisputed 2010 kicked it's ass on the sales charts.

EA was so dissapointed, they basically released the exact same game with some gameplay tweaks and story mode, in Fight Night Champion. It barely sold any units.

So, that explains why EA, at least, won't be releasing a boxing game anytime soon.

i can't count how many hours i spent and the new people i met while playing FN3 on the 360. EA got weird with their choices for FN4, making the parry too strong and messing up the feel of the controls. FNC was just odd. it wasn't bad per se, but it felt so automated and canned that if you knew the timing of the parry and the auto block, you really didn't have a problem besting anybody. The fight night series needs to bring back the feel and intensity of part 3 as well as the options sliders, and make it not so parry heavy!

I don't know where you got your information from but the UFC games didn't outsell EA worst boxing game. I actually use to be a EA Fight Night Community Leader and Senior Moderator.

The producers are telling me they can't tell me if they are working on something or not. A few said fans want can make anything happen if enough make noise to show companies they are interested. A few companies want to make boxing games but fans are not showing they really want them to make one. Fans are always wait and see! Then, they act interest when something is announced. The waiting game could kill chances!

Metacritic says Fight Night was the best overall series under EA!

Boxing is dying and has no cover worthy super stars nowadays. Who they gonna put on the cover? GGG? No one cares. Canelo? Might get some mexican sales. Boxing is in need of a super star to bring the interest back.

Why make a game out of a dying, nearly dead, sport. UFC is teh future!
You guys can't be serious?!? If boxing was a dying sport the amateur boxing circuit wouldn't still be going. Boxing is still making millions of dollars. Boxing top 50 fighter is making more than UFC/MMA top fighter. Please read my first post fully. It shows that the worst Fight Night game sold more than the EA UFC game.

I have it on good authority that Conor McGregor Club Fighting Championships is deep into development.

Can't recall where I read the original article, but apparently you are correct that FNR4 didn't flop... but UFC Undisputed 2009 outsold it.

FNR4 - 2.9 million units sold
http://www.vgchartz.com/gamedb/?nam...sher=&platform=&genre=&minSales=0&results=200

UFC Undisputed - 2 million (XBox360) + 1.75 million (Ps3) = 3.75 million units sold
http://www.vgchartz.com/game/24582/ufc-2009-undisputed/
http://www.vgchartz.com/game/24581/ufc-2009-undisputed/

But the combined sales of FNC and FNR4 is over UFC 2009's.

FNC - 1.9 million units sold
http://www.vgchartz.com/gamedb/?name=Fight+Night+Champion

But the adding in UFC Undisputed 2010's total sales of 2.7 million...
http://www.vgchartz.com/gamedb/?name=Ufc&publisher=&platform=&genre=&minSales=0&results=200

But, on a more hopeful note that EA is finally developing Fight Night Round 5... EA's UFC games sales have been pitiful.

EA UFC 1 - 1 million units sold
http://www.vgchartz.com/game/73105/ea-sports-ufc/

EA UFC 2 - 1.1 million units sold
http://www.vgchartz.com/game/86173/ea-sports-ufc-2/

Thanks for providing more information and being honest.

No problem.

Based on that website, we both were partially wrong and partially right.

It does explain why EA hasn't even announced FNR5 nearly 8 years since FNR4 was released - the UFC titles of '09 and '10 sold more than FNR4 and FNC.

So, EA acquired the UFC license and attempted to duplicate the success of THQ's titles, and failed.

And I checked out your forum, and the #1 thing I hope EA improves is the training options to get your stats up. In each of the FN games, they absolutley suck. Hopefully they add more diverse options to career mode.

Still playing "Fight Night Champion" on PS3...

I agree. Where's the next Boxing game? What the fuck? It's not like that franchise was a complete failure.

Hasn't boxing been losing its popularity and stars?

I liked a couple of the Fight Night games, but even the UFC games have been trash since EA took over IMO.

I could live without a shit boxing game, i mean they'd really have to bring it and put in tons of effort.

When the Fight Night games came out, did you actually care about any current boxer at the time?

I didn't. I got to put Ali against Tyson, and Foreman against Liston. The game play was incredible. Still is. It's one of the best fighting franchises ever created. Never really understood why they just abandoned it.

I have a feeling that the same thing that is ruining boxing probably makes the legality of producing a game a nightmare: four freaking organizations.

Seriously, who wants to manage 4 major contracts and their negotiations when MMA has surpassed Boxing in mainstream popularity in the most profitable VG market in the world (i.e. North America) and they have one "major league" you have to deal with?

The sport of Boxing is a fucking mess: a joke of its own making. It's a logistical nightmare.

Haha. Schooled. And you didn't even need to mention that fn r5... Doesn't exist

And agreed. We need a next Gen boxing game God damnit.

Why won't they at least make the fn series backward compatible so we can play it on xbone/ps4?

I remember talking to a dev on the UFC forum and he said it'd be a shame if there would be no Fight Night game on Next-Gen. And I agree. I hope they are working on one now.

I checked Brian Hayes linkedin just now, and 4 days ago he shared a post about looking for a Development Director for the EA UFC franchise. I thought that was his job? Well, who knows.
