Where do *YOU* think *OTHER* War Room regulars sit on the U.S political spectrum?

The giveaway is often that they are for free movement of capital, but not of labor (though like you point out, not even really freedom for capital in many cases).

Yep. In another thread, Greoric was pushing the ridiculous line that he's for "leave people alone" policy. I asked what the "leave people alone" position on borders is. Still waiting for an answer. :)

There is absolute truth in idea that the general public really has no idea of what a real libertarian is.

Here's one clue: If you're a libertarian, you should whole heartedly support immigration.

Also, that Jack V Savage is about as left as you can get... Dude is such a socialist, he probably has a poster of Marx in his bedroom ;)

I took a political test on here one time. It put me right in the center, not authoritarian and not anything goes and just barely to the right.

Communism, all the way. Ask me about this successful form of government that has achieved so much and is so popular.

I've actually been getting shit from leftier-than-thou types for not feeling the Bern.

I think you took a right turn at right and kept on going..... But I still love you brah

Open discussion is good, especially on this topic. It leads to growth, and growing as a human being is important. I nominate my self for being Center-right, because that's how I see myself. Other posters who've I've gone round and round with in these threads might see me differently, and if they do I'd like to know why. Other people's unmitigated opinions help to breed self reflection. That in turn encourages growth. Just my own two cents.

Also, I'm not sure if I've really encountered many real libertarians on here

The problems is consistency. But you'll see that in anybody here that sides with a particular political party. I mean, just looks at the division within the Republican party. This is to be expected.

A lot of libertarians though, and it's frustrating to me, aren't just inconsistent in their beliefs... but they downright contradict themselves sometimes. The immigration issues is a big one too, how can you support the free market but not support an influx of cheap labor? Hell, even W at one point said that he supported immigration for this reason. Of course large MW increases will work in direct contradiction of this.. but I believe more business owners will be paying under the table as a result.

Or the legalizing of marijuana is another one.... I'm all for the decriminalization, but I'm not jumping on the "make a legitimate business out of it so the government can tax you" BS. I'm more about emptying out prisons and easing the burden on the court system and taxpayers, not finding another reason for the government to tax people.

Don't even bother classifying me because I don't really contribute anything or try to convince people one side is right, I just post in this forum to see whats newsworthy (Islam threads, apparently) and look at the variety of opinions. Just glancing at my post history they're all just funny replies or mocking stupid opinions. Not anything groundbreaking and all over the place in terms of political affiliation.

Holy fuck dude, how did you compile that ? Off the top of your head ?

I have many talents.

No, I just looked at the first three pages or so of the Favorite WR Poster thread and let Excel sort the list. Took about 5 minutes.

Genious

Anyways, about myself, since I tend to be a regular poster here :

- I am a nationalist, convinced westerner (I usually don't care much for set of values that fall outside North America and Western Europe, nor do I think that we as Westerners should give 2 fucks about them), against multiculturalism, mass-immigration and against globalism. I am also against gay-marriage and believe in traditional gender-roles. On those aspects I am an anti-PC right-winger. These topics are usually what I post about in the WR so I guess that for the posters who tend to read my posts I would be known as a right-winger.

- However, I am non-religious, for abortion, against the death-penalty and don't believe in full-blown market capitalism. I think that governments should have a significant role to play in an economy, at least as a counter-weight to international capital. I also believe in strict gun-laws (I know you won't like that @ironwolf , nothing against responsible hunting but I think that civilians have no business playing with military firearms. I hope you won't hate me for that :) ) So these aspects would caracterise me as a left-winger.

I think Andes is more of a centrist. He did call for abolishing Canada.

I didn't see myself or Michaelangelo on there.

I'm a libertarian so I am not sure where that leaves me.

I think most people are purists to any ideology and I'd actually advise against it because it tries to fit the same formula into every problem and usually the problems are very different and complex in nature. I do find how immigration has played out as an issue as hilarious. Dems have been for it despite being for protecting labor and republicans have had to try to steer their base to it while acting like they are against it.

I'd actually say I'm the opposite of a purist and support pragmatism. For example, I probably don't agree with all or most of Obamas ideology but I think his second term was very productive. I probably wouldn't think that way if he also had control of the house and senate but it was pretty clear at the time he wouldn't be able to win both houses in 2012

I find the left right paradigm to be counter productive.

I have voted everything from Conservative to Green , there are good ideas everywhere, why limit yourself

Having said that i used to lean right now i have definitely moved center left , keep in mind that federally in Canada our last two Conservative governments have shat the bed and the previous centrist Liberal governments of the nineties and early 2000's did a very respectable job , jury is out on the current Liberal government.
