    Would the hype finally die or would the built in excuses save him? For example, "well Conor hadn't fought in 2 years" or "he did really good considering he fought a man tree times his size"

    Even if Conor gets his head caved in, his fans would cry "Ring Rust" and demand a rematch which he'll get instantly. Conor fans have a list of excuses ready for any situation.

    It would deflate him a bit, just like the first Nate loss. He would go into hiding for a year or two, his fan boys would keep him in the spotlight by way of Conor threads. Then in a couple of years, Conor will emerge as if he is still the king for another big time money fight jumping the line ahead of anyone because, well, he is Conor.

    How can the word hype even be used with a 2x multiple weight champion...who's beaten the best in the business? I think many of you are in so much denial over what conor has accomplished, it's almost mind boggling...still talking about "ending the hype" that just shows how incredibly delusional some are on here.

Well, here's what actually did happen....conor lost, then pretty much called for an immediate rematch...trained his ass off, came back and beat a full camp diaz...beat his ass actually...if that fight was scored properly, or today, the fight wouldn't have been even close...the 2 knockdowns in one round, should have been a 10-8 round...today it would have been...

    It depends on what he does next with his career, but nothing can take away from the fact that he won the belt in 2 divisions, and that he was the UFC's biggest star for quite a few years. His ranking in the top 100 all-time great MMA fighters will go down is all.
