What qualification does a judge usually have to be deciding the result of the bout?

There is usually a three-judge panel who sits on the side of the ring observing the fight and gets to make a decision when the fight goes into a decision, so who can be one of the judges? Are they usually the former fighters, coaches, referees, or scholars of some certain field? I wonder where they usually hire the judges.

A white ponce. If you are this you get the job.

They need to be a member of the flat earth society.

contact your state Athletic Commission. if you go through the hoops, you can be a judge.

if you don't suck at the first few hundred local events, maybe you'll move up in the ranks.

if you keep moving up in the ranks, maybe you'll become licensed at more than one state.

there's some politics involved, in the sense that if you're an asshole no one will help you out in your career.

but the fact is, most people don't go through the hoops and commit to it. mostly only people who already are involved in MMA in some other way do it. so most judges are involved in MMA in some other way. or boxing.

Given the level of corruption, likely a strong affiliations with the mob.

Also, remember to take bribes and fix fights. Its been a given in boxing for over a 100yrs and more recent in mma. The sec money and sports betting is involved, insanity kicks off.

Contact your state athletic commission.

Download the form online and send it back.

You will be asked to fill out your experience in the sports world.

If you get accepted, they will give you a call.

Don't expect to judge until you go through training organized through the commission.

Expect to work for the commission on fight night until our training is complete. Hand wrap inspections, weigh-in monitor, escort from lockeroom to ring/cage, lockeroom inspections, etc...will be asked for.

Not a bad gig for an evening of work
