What kind of home will $500,000 buy you in your area?

That is insane. The median price here is 155k. And it’s a nice area!

It varies widely according to what part of Lima you look at.

In my district, I looked and you can get a 190 sq. meter apartment for US$ 520,000.

In my actual community this is selling for $490k. 4 bedroom, 2.5 bath, 1942 sq ft, 3918 sq ft LOT. This part of the neighborhood the houses are so dense and one of those semi shared driveways. Plus it has an HOA. I would hate to live on this street.


My area is considered affordable compared to the actual bay area. Even in the undesirable parts of the South Bay such as San Jose in a bad school district. $500k might get you a small old 1-2 bedroom townhouse under 1000 sq ft. In the nicer areas you can't get anything for $500k. Even $1 millon won't get you much.
