This. His competition is so weak, you don't know if he's actually elite at anything. Fighting TJ would give an accurate portrayal of his skills and what level they're at.Hard to tell if hes actually elite at anything.
Dom is a MUCH bigger guy. MM says he walks around at 140. Dom says he walks around at 160. MM clearly also wasn't nearly as good a fighter then. I'd like to see MM fight T.J. I'd like to see him move back up to 135 for super fights. But considering he's a small 125 to begin with, it's perfectly reasonable for him to stay at 125 too.I dont hate DJ, I'm just not delusional about the fact that he fights in the weakest division in MMA.
DJ would not do that to 90% of the BW division and him getting ragdolled by Dom is clear evidence of that.
Where did you get this from?Cejudo is a gold medalist wrestler and couldn't outgrapple DJ.
Where did you get this from?
Cejudo got him down, after in the clinch what made the difference were knees, nothing about grappling
he's got an uncanny ability to duck fighters like nothing I've seen beforeWe all know that Demetrious Johnson is one of the most well rounded fighters in all of MMA... that being said, most fighters excelled at a single discipline before transitioning to mixed martial arts. All I can find is that MM wrestled in high school, but never won a state title (2nd and 3rd). Im surprised that such a great athlete at his weight can dominate grown (I use the term lightly) men as a pro but couldn’t win a championship in high school. Has he ever competed in other martial arts at a high level, or was he just able to adapt extremely well to cage fighting?
Sure he will, and he improved his striking and mixing it all together as wellKnees definitely made a difference, but they stemmed from DJ being able to control the clinch to a degree that Cejudo wasn't expecting.
"I underestimated his clinch and he hit me to the body on both sides. He did a good job. I underestimated his clinch cause the plan was to take him there and slowly wrestle him, and the knees made a difference."
Perhaps now that he knows what to expect he'll be better prepared to handle positioning.
Cejudo's damn good. I've always thought his striking was underrated. He's got skills everywhere.Sure he will, and he improved his striking and mixing it all together as well
High mountain to climb but i dont think fight will end in a first round like last time
