What excuse does MM have now not to fight TJ?

That is a real weak one as that is a risk with any opponent. Has TJ ever not made weight?

Plus if TJ did miss weight MM would get 25% of his purse and be fighting a depleted TJ who would have went thru a horrid weight cut. It would be his best chance to beat him and send him back up for good. Only downside is he would not get a defense but he can pile those up in his weak division until he retires.

Depending on what state it is in it will count as a title defense. Although if he gets defeated he does not lose his championship.
though if DJ some how missed weight the opposite would apply.

They started doing this after Chael Sonnen beat up that gentleman who was addicted to drugs in the wec.

Has TJ ever fought at FlW? No, he hasn't. Even if he can make BW consistently, it does not mean he can make FlW. Getting 25% of his purse is probably not a great selling point either, it would be an unfair fight as TJ would be significantly bigger than MM.

I want MM to fight TJ but for MM not to have a single excuse, TJ needs to prove/do a test cut and show that he can make the weight. If he does that there is literally nothing MM can use as a valid excuse and he either has to fight TJ (and most likely lose) or forever be known as the worst and most chicken champ in the UFC.

MM can agree to fight TJ at 125. But he can tell Dana that if TJ doesn't make weight he's not fighting him. Put all the pressure on TJ so that he looks like the bad guy if he fails weight.

MM has no excuse not to fight anyone at 125 that the UFC says he should fight. If they can make weight, he should fight them.

I'm not sure why this was ever floated as a reason. The bait-and-switch, "not the champ" and even to a lesser extent "unfair to the guy I signed to fight" all sound more legit.

Anyone can miss weight for any fight, and if they do, the fight usually still happens.

The fight should be at 135. That makes more sense.

Let's see if the snake really wants the fight. You know, if his belt is on the line.

He says they have a rankings system in place for a reason... & it's up to the champion of that division uphold the sanctity of the hard work the people in the division have put in. If TJ wants a shot at him, he has to prove himself against his minions first.

he said Sergio Pettis will likely get the next shot if he beats Cejudo.

when did he ask for Cody? Garbrandt was filming TUF opposite of TJ then injured his back so the UFC wanted MM/TJ for a potential August 19th event.. MM wanted a gimme, then Borg ended up pulling out a day before UFC 215, same thing he did to McCall, and 2 other times due to injury, plus missing weight twice on top of only being on a 2 fight win streak, but somehow he was the only option in MM's head when literally any other fight would've made more sense..

He also asked for Pettis and the UFC told him his only option was Borg so he signed for it.

TJ was only brought up as an option after Cody was hurt. After MM signed to fight the guy he was told that he had to.

MM raised concerns that TJ has never attempted to make the weight and he didn't want to train for nothing so the UFC guaranteed that he would, but that Borg would be kept as a backup. Effectively asking MM to train for two opponents. MM asked for financial consideration to do so, he said he'd just take the fight he'd already signed for.

Dana proceeds to trash him publicly. I'd say fuck it and stick it to Dan too.
